Hey, you aren't being a dick. That is precisely why I started this thread. Even the happiest BoC tracks contain bittersweetness and even the saddest ones tend to have glimmers of hope. That is why I asked for individual opinions, because a lot of tracks that I would consider are generally positive with underlying melancholia have been listed here as other people's saddest tracks.

It isn't about pigeonholing, more about getting to know more about the listeners and their perceptions of tracks. They all exist on an emotional spectrum, which is why I stated "saddest" as opposed to "sad".

You've pretty much summed up how I feel in that first paragraph, I find it interesting for example how someone would find Forest Moon sad while to me it's a very positive track, Maybe not exactly happy though.

I'm going to go for Seven forty seven for my happiest track since it brings me so many happy memories and reminds me of the actual beach at redpoint more than the track The Beach at Redpoint does itself! Due to the psychedelic nature of the track and my visit there..

I'll go with Semena Mertvyk as my saddest track.. I get this sense of utter helplessness and loss.. Like looking back on a destroyed planet and thinking.. how.. why.. what did we do.. ;(

That track makes me think of the ending of the John Carpenter movie "Prince of Darkness." After all the struggle and strife, the world is probably still going to end anyways...

Saddest - Amo Bishop Roden, however this plays nicely with my meloncholic nature

Happiest - Peacock Tail

Although ask me again tomorrow and it could possibly be completely different answers.

I think sherbet head is probably their most impactful track with a somber attitude, it feels like watching old camcorder videos from the early 2000's, reminds me of an ice rink. Boqurant is just downright depressing, its hard to listen to it without 5-9-78 directly after.

Roygbiv and Rue the whirl are definitely the happiest, very bouncy and fun.

Orange Romeda has always been one of my happier tracks personally.

Welcome to Twoism, by the way. Happy first post!

Agree. Much like Forest Moon it is either the happiest sad track or the saddest happy track. BoC are masters of treading the thin blurred borders between the two.

I think it's a trick in nostalgia. Remembering good times, remembering good times lost.

That would be a huge sheet of LSD! At minimum, enough to inspire an album called Acid Memories. :P

That would make me so very happy, even the throwaway tunes on OT sound better.
