It's phonetic. The A is the AH sound in GOD.
Because it's generally pronounced as GAHD instead of GODE, GOID or GOOD.

Geogaddi = anagram of didge goa, meaning goa trance with didgeridoos

That's got to be it, no?

Yeah, I thought this was common knowledge. They even stated this in an interview back in the day.
"I do actually believe that there are powers in music that are almost supernatural. I think you actually manipulate people with music, and that is definitely what we are trying to do."

This is what Geogaddi rhymes with. There are two Ds! Not like the A vowel in 'tsunami'.

Gahd? please, there is a massive world outside of the US

It's actually an ode to Steve Gadd who is a family friend, he took them to centre parcs as a kid which started their love for hexagons and domes, his nickname was geogadd. He was like a second father and they thought he was god because of his playing. He played on some tracks on geogaddi. He helped realise the beat in gyroscope after they could not pull it off due to the dream fading the next morning.
so, the OP is partly right, well spotted, his nickname is hidden inside G O D and he was the daddy.
