Christ that soil looks like it has been used to death. Is desertification a potential theme (amongst many others)

Holy shit, your ability to find these is unique.

Any luck on the Helicopter pics? I will start looking into documentaries involving that particular model as the theory suggested earlier that it was a screenshot from a motion picture as opposed to a still image is looking quite likely given the circumstances.

Thanks! I haven't investigated them yet. Good luck!

No
Fucking
Way

Out of curiosity, for this particular image, what methods did you use to obtain it?
This is something well beyond a reverse image search.
Is that the Goodyear blimp skydock?

Yeah, I found the Goodyear Airdock photo a while back but I never checked the film frame around it.
I randomly zoomed in the photo and found the damn number today.

Hmm... Anyone want to volunteer to put points on a map where these photo locations are? I am wondering if there is something non-random about the locations.

Oh and WT actual F?! I am amazed at the level of reverse image search witchcraft involved here. Kinda scary actually...

Great idea! Shouldn't be too hard to do.

I don't really reverse search anymore. I try to find similar images on archive websites and wiki commons.
If you find one, you will likely find a bunch more from the same photographer. For instance, the one with Utah mountains enabled me to get the silo.

August 22, 1992 -- FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi shoots and kills Vicki Weaver during an 11-day siege at her home at Ruby Ridge, Idaho. It was noted that the Ruby Ridge incident and the 1993 Waco siege involved many of the same agencies (e.g., the FBI HRT and the ATF) and some of the same personnel (e.g., the FBI HRT commander.)

Interesting. Well that actually suggests that the methodology for image selection by the cover artist was more about image availability and licensing and probably not about and kind of cryptic location information. Hmm... The plot thins...

this one was impossible, it's not even a part from the picture, but some sort of the unique-number from the draft, impossible work :)

Perhaps they like the camerawork of particular photographers and the aesthetic/ messages that come across in photographs they have selected amongst thousands of others.
