‘O Is For Orange’ is the sound of weathered tape saturation, detuned analogue synthesisers, vinyl crackle and machine hum. It’s also the look of unfocused, flickering lenses, mirror image filters and blurry grain embedded into film. Unofficial fan films sit alongside experimental animation, public information shorts and even the odd official video. Material that BoC took inspiration from blends with their own work as well as many that they inspired.

The email from Soundcrash alluded/stated that BoC was joining DJ Food with the performance. Alas it was a typo apparently so no BoC. Could have caused a bit of a stir.

This mix is amazing. the part in particular at the end of Everything You Do Is A Balloon, when he slows down that tiny guitar sample and mixes it into it's original recording. Moments like that make it really worthwhile for super-fans of BOC; it gives new context to sounds we've heard a million times.

If DJ Food was the one close enough to have gotten an Autographed limited version of the Peel Sessions from BoC one would think that he would have the green light from Warp when it comes to sample clearance, no? Strange that his videos would still be getting taken down on Copyright.

Unless what you mean is that the uploader is getting copyright strikes from DJ food's associated label or just claims from him individually, that seems kind of unlikely too but is far more plausible.

It was a really good gig. Fun to watch all the original samples being played over the sons, like Sesame Street with the girl on the submarine saying 'set say into the stars' at the end of Aquarius plus the nature documentary of the 'catch a dandelion in one piece'.
Wouldn't want to say that DJ Food's gig was better than seeing BOC live (not that I would know), but as an audio visual mix it really set the bar high.
