Hello, I emerge from my internet slumber and am curious, are twoismers aware of/fans of the new preoccupations album? It is truly amazing, very synth and texture heavy, and really invokes a sense of understanding of the stereo field and sonic spaces. Fans of Boards of canada's intricate synth, texture heavy aspects might see something of value in their tunes. Furthermore from there, are any of you fans of the first album under the moniker of 'Viet Cong?' Or do you fellows like the Flegel bros. first band women? Post hear if so!

I quite enjoyed Women's Public Strain.

Viet Cong's stuff passed me by, and the teaser tracks to the Preoccupations record seemed pretty cool.

Really liked the Viet Cong LP. Didn't know they'd changed name. That's my afternoon listening sorted then. :)

Women's Public Strain was fantastic, and Viet Cong was decent. I haven't got to Preoccupations yet because I still can't get over how awful the name Preoccupations is.

I don't think the name Preoccupations is terrible, and in theory it's a much more appropriate name than "Viet Cong" lol. They are the same band, just with a different name. The new album is amazing, I think better than the first. It's just so dark and psychedelic with swirling synth goodness.

I like all of the bands I mentioned, but tend to feel like Women can be a bit dull, on the boring side.

I enjoyed Women's brooding angry nature.

The feeling that something horrid was bubbling up from the acidic muck, and in the times of China Steps and Drag Open, it did.

I agree, but I would even argue that comes to ahead more in the latest preoccupations album. I keep going back to that album over and over again lol

That is a great song! That was one of the first that turned me on to them. I love their use of guitar harmonization.
