I personally like Common Era far more than their first album. Common Era is far more melodic and harmonious than October Langage and in October Language the emphasis lies much more on the walls of sound and the sound design (or that's how I interpret it anyway), while I strongly prefer the former style of music.

I noticed one track on October Language called "Remove The Inside". I recently watched the Jean-Luc Godard movie "Vivre Sa Vie" and it contains a famous quote that goes like this: "A bird is an animal with an inside and outside. Remove the outside, there’s the inside. Remove the inside, and you see the soul.". (couldn't find a youtube video of this except one without subtitles, sadly). I think the track might be named after that, just a thought.

Yeah, their two albums are so different it just depends on what you're into.

Sorry guys, most forums would prefer 7 year old threads to not be resurrected, will do so in the future!

Anyway, October Language has been in my top 3 for a few years now. I can't wait to own it on vinyl.

They did a few new tracks for the soundtrack to 'Dark Places' starring Charlize Theron:

Thanks for that, although the second one is just an edit of an older song (trying to figure out which one)

I do not recognise it as an edit of anything in their back cat.

How embarrassing, it's from the record in my avatar! You'll hear it around the 7 minute mark.

It's an amazing release. Plus the vinyl looks awesome (look at my avatar!)

I actually have it in 320 mp3 which Turk shared with me back in the MySpace days. I must revisit it.
