Nils Frahm - All Melody.
Took a couple of listens to hit home, but it's wonderful.

I bought (and I'm still waiting for) the new Go! Team album Semicircle in cassette. I heard the album already and it sounds pretty good, maybe not incredible but good enough, I'm definitely waiting for the cassette to get more into it. If you're not familiar with the band or if you got stuck at "Thunder, Lightning, Strike" I urge you to get both Rolling Blackouts and The Scene Between. They're such good albums and have sooooo many amazing tunes. Along with BoC they're my favourite band by far, their music always make me genuinely happy.

I've been listening to leaks of the upcoming Preoccupations and Unknown Mortal Orchestra albums. Both great, especially the latter. I don't think the Preoccs album holds up to their previous stuff, but I'd still definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the whole post-punk/new wave thing.

It seems like the new Mark Pritchard album is shaping up to be something special too. I don't think it's been leaked, but the two singles I've heard are pretty damn tasty. It comes out this Friday so I shall be indulging soon!

Also, staying relevant to the thread title, I recently discovered a gem from 2017: the album "Rocket" by (Sandy) Alex G. It's been a very long time since an 'indie folk' record piqued my interest.

I've been following Amen Dunes since their last record, Love, in 2014,
And they just dropped another incredible piece of work.

Freedom is a special, beautiful, earth shatteringly emotional record which is transcendental and grand.

oh and of course the new Nicolas Jaar (as Against All Logic) is a masterpiece of deep house/funky techno

I'd never heard this guy before, but this album is really great. Thanks for the recommendation.

The Orielles’ album Silver Dollar Moment is brilliant.

Really good, sunny psychedelic pop.

Ólafur Arnalds is back in his solo capacity outside of Kiasmos. This is really growing on me; re:member

I've never been to Iceland, but his music sounds like I imagine it to be.

Gutted I missed his show in Portland, Dorset a couple of years ago. He played before the finale of the second Broadchurch series, which he scored the music for.

Stoner metal legends Sleep released "The Sciences" on 4/20 (of course) with no notice, on Jack White's Third Man label. The band's first album in about 19 years. It's a big deal if you're into that scene.
