I'm gonna go ahead and assume there are at least some people here that like to incorporate field recordings in to their music making (I know I do!)

question.....does anyone have a regular source where you get said recordings? or do you just go out and record your own? I have used soundcloud before.....there used to be a page/group to add field recordings that anyone could use (royalty free) I just wondered if anyone knows of any other good database/website to use?

I would love to build a library of my own recordings but never seem to get round to it!

http://freesound.org would be an obvious one. Has some great stuff though most of it needs some editing. There's a lot of public domain stuff on it as well!
