Had a lot of stress that culminated in something I've chosen to let be recently and finished up a project I started a long time ago, last bit shared here (it has changed considerably as even my own take on paulstretch I consider 'cheating' of sorts as well as segues and alterations to texture - there are far better cuts):

Was having a discussion with a poster here I've only recently begun talking to about a remix and hopefully that might happen. LP is only 3-5 tracks long (plus a lot of textures and base drones I might put online or include as bonuses) though that's not unusual given the genre.

Gotta really thank a handful of Twoismers [points to 747, Cupz, Cosmic Manta, TheFadeBeta, Aerial Boundaries etc.] for keeping me productive even through the food poisoning.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

Sounding great, friends.
Bearhead, hot damn that is solid ambient goodness!

B0qurant, charming stuff. I like the goofiness of it. The recording sounds great. Solid choice on the Tascam portastudio.

Betterthanyourkids, that song is better than my kids. Awesome production quality!! Interesting genre. Very well done.

Jonse, gorgeous textures! As far as I'm concerned: Resulting sounds > methods to get the sound. Whatever gets the good waves flowing. Bar obvious things like theft.

I guess I'll ask it of Twoism: not so complicated. I'm finishing a record after roughly 27 months under the moniker In Mono Where Available for free (and) in proposition for three (really two, one I don't foresee happening) labels significantly notable though not yet exactly enormous. Small steps. PR/B. PC/Hefty would all be amazing. When I have something I feel that is of value, then I won't feel so "seriously where the hell do I get off doing this w/ these people?" talking with Skam or Kranky. I just wish I were not focused on the ambient stuff right now and had a band rightfully assembled. Julia Nash is considering re-opening Wax Trax! to demos. For reasons obvious to me, that is amazing, I hope it happens. May not mean much to others though to be among the first new signed bands/artists to Wax Trax! in 20+ years is something not dissimilar to having Warp contact me. Different scene, infinitely more independent at this stage....still drenched with equally important lineage undoubtedly.

Hello Cupz, thank you for your appreciation.

Here on Deezer:
http://www.deezer.com/us/album/52938162
also on Google play music:
https://play.google.com/store/music/album/Di%C3%BCrn_Continental?id=Blruv45f4dgtoimupqsa4hlwtii&hl=en
It should be on itunes also, you can search for diürn or continental.

It deserves a listen as a whole, keep in mind that all this sounds are pure improvisation.

Experimenting with sound is so fuuuuuun!! I'm having more of a blast than ever making music. Get in your studios, twoism! Don't let slumps get the best of you. Do what you love!

A song from last year made better with experiments:

Kind of a trap-esque beat I made last summer that I thought would be worth sharing with you guys. I have a few more similar to this one. I've been debating on whether or not to put them out together as a whole thing, or do what I intended to do with them and license them to rappers.

I liked that Film Score one 747, it sounds very cinematic. A dystopian robot future depicted in an old anime is the sort of imagery that comes to mind.

A random track snippet I put together to showcase a new drum kit plugin:

I was also experimenting with a Pultec compressor on the drums here; there's a nice fullness about them.

Nothing, for once. I finished a version of the record I'd been working on. I revised it. I put it away. I've no clue my worth as a musician or person anymore.

FWIW I've felt that way several times over the years. I found my way, and maybe you will too.

@Jonse Yes i know the feeling too....it took me a long time to break free from the same old thing, i have put down the synths many time for months on end...

Here is the thing though and i hate the analogy i'm going to make ...music is like a well that needs time too refill it's not something that you can always pull from and expect it to be there.

The best music i ever made was made in the mind set of fuck it, i just want to play, then i'd make a mistake and BINGO that's it! let me play that again.

Anyways Jonse i really like your work it takes you on a journey akin to watching a film, maybe even a mystery it's full of strong emotion and really well crafted textures ....just saying

I think you will find it again, one day you will listen to a demo you created with a fresh ear and say hey "that's pretty good" ...

Try working with other musicians too, this has helped me quite a bit. Sometimes i send stuff i think sucks as a joke and then it comes back to me and i am blown away as in "o shit i didn't think of it that way" and that can help you find a whole new approach.

clocolan is right i think it happens to all of us, out of frustration i have even trashed complete songs ,good ones.....but fuck it i will make more and they will be even better.

I dig the end of that perc track, pretty trippy altogether.

Not sure if im being crazy here but is it pitched down and then at the end pitched up??

I hear a bit of delay in the end that make it feels like it was pitched up with resampling.

Prefer the house track though, synths pad out of a forza game and a kick ass bass!

Had a boost of inspiration outta nowhere, this is my favorite so far and I think anything from me is gonna top it for a while.

I have no fucking clue why that beat works, it doesn't make any sense to me because I don't know my rythm theory very well, this is probably me accidentally doing compound times or stuff like that, I keep analysing all of it and I still cannot figure out why this still sounds correct. It shouldn't

Anyway, enjoy:
