One on Twoism (Volumes 1 – 4) really belongs to one of my favourite albums, or rather compilations; as I am a big fan of trippy, psychedelic, shoe-gazer, downtempo doodlings made by acts such as Boreal Network, Flamingo Pudding, Frequent C, Phenoplastic, Saturday Index and Trills amongst many, many others – to be found on the various One on Twoism compilations.

Musically the direction from One on Twoism is pretty clear: “Twoism” is an ep by Boards of Canada, which appeared in 2002. You can expect dozens of tracks which are reminiscent of the Scottish duo. But that’s no problem at all, because all four One on Twoism volumes and especially the contributing artists fill the lack of “most probably unpublished” stuff by Boards of Canada.

Established in 2007, the Twoism Records netlabel is the official home of the One on Twoism (OoT) compilation series, featuring music from the Twoism Forum. Basically each compilation consists of two / three dozens of artists contributing with one or more track. I strongly suggest to give a listen to all of 4 volumes being released via Twoism Records netlabel. Also have a look at the fantastic artwork that comes with every compilation. I picked out the track Flying Ants by Phenoplastic form the latest OoT Vol. 4 which has been dropped in december 2010.
