What a life. An extraordinary mind.

Obituary: Stephen Hawking - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-15555565

"Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
It matters that you don't just give up."

Stephen William Hawking,
1942 Jan 08 - 2018 Mar 14

Sad day. This obit from Roger Penrose was a fitting farewell. Considering they worked closely together, and this piece was uploaded this morning, I imagine Hawking must've been ill for a while.

Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…
