I like Spiro but it is probably towards the bottom of the list for me. I like the concepts of the composition but don't exactly feel as much emotion from this one compared to almost all of their other pieces. This is one I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to, although I will say that it is not half bad by any means. Synths are top notch, but the drums do not really captivate my attention. Of course it is a tad bit difficult to listen with the talking and people having outright conversations in the middle of the performance. It is quite catchy though, wish they experimented and refined this one a bit more.

I give this one a 6.4 out of 10.

Sherbet head really is masterful. It is one of those timeless tunes that has a lot of detail to digest. It has been detuned but still sounds excellent in a grand fashion. This one is really special to me, but personal sentiment aside, it really is one hell of a track. There is so much going on and it really transports the listener to a special place.

From BoCPages: Throughout the track is a recording of some human voices that are garbled and buried and are, therefore, hard to comprehend. The voices are clearest at the beginning, before the bass kicks in. Noticeable in this section is a man saying a word or two (0:00-0:04), a phrase said by a woman (0:10-0:12) and a phrase said twice by a third voice (0:20-0:24). It sounds like the microphone is being banged against objects as if somebody is walking around somewhere with a hand-held tape recorder. Also audible is the sound of a child screaming (0:57). Similar sounds continue on for the rest of the track's duration. Perhaps it is a field recording of some public space.

^beautifully worded in regards to "sherbert head". that track is very personal to me as well and it also takes me to that indescribable place

as far as audiotrack b 01 goes

very meh. which is expected for a track never meant for a public release. however, while listening just now i noticed that the piano in the track sounds very similar to "Olsen". it may be the same sample

Dayvan Cowboy is quite the timeless tune. It sets the stage aptly for a certain kind of imagery, one that makes the listener feel as if they are exploring. Whether that be driving through a highway out in the desert, aimlessly walking in the forest, soaring through the skies, or navigating the waters. The sense that the listener is on an adventure is strong in this one and the build up to the guitar. When the guitar comes in, the listener has now 'arrived' at their destination. They realize that they are free to build on their wildest dreams, to engage their imagination. This song conveys the aforementioned sentiments in a particularly well-executed manner. When the drums come in and the synths follow, it creates a very interesting experience for the listener. Everything is in its place, change one note and it would all fall apart, however as it is, it is intriguing and pleasant to listen to. You can feel a certain longing or yearning in the background synths that are portrayed as strings (I am just assuming they are synths and not a violin or cello, but could be wrong). A fantastic piece. This one will go down in history.

My favorite BoC remix. It’s classic Boards, the vintage synths, hopping beat intertwined with the vocal samples that sound like they’re from Sesame Street. 9/10

Not my favorite on Old Tunes 2, but it's still a fine track to end the mixtape. 7/10

pretty boring and repetitive. really can't complain too much about tracks that we were never meant to hear.

really love this track, theres so much going on in it all at once. makes it feel very hazy and dreamlike, hence the title i assume. track is great start to finish, but the end is definitely a strong highlight. 8.3/10

My least favorite out of the 4 tracks on In a Beautiful Place, but still has an enjoyable melody. 8/10

The penultimate track for the album that links the depressing yet somewhat hopeful "Diving Station" and the empty droning of "Corsair". It always leaves me with a feeling of "how did I get here?" when I get to it.

8/10: "Alpha and Omega" does this better, I think.

It's a neat little tune, but still probably about a 6, since there's other shorter old tunes that I prefer. :P

I love this tune, a proper club banger from the boys, I heard it once on a massive sound system out my dish and it was a pretty euphoric experience. Love the SH101 pad that plays throughout and the little flicks on the cutoff every few bars, the keys that come in later on are sublime too. The percussion track is a beast. 9/10.

Beautifully haunting track, not my favorite off of Geogaddi, but still ONE of the songs that makes this album my favorite BoC album. 9/10.

Dandelion

as a non english speaker I didn;t know what dandelion means, years after I realised that is Oduvanchik in russian, this added another layer to this track for me. Overall this and Diving station are two tracks that kind of similar to me in a way, that they are both about "diving". Tho, Dandelion is more lighter version so I give it a light 7.
