Boards of Canada Live in Mexico?

Thu Oct 16, 2014 7:53 pm

I just got this image from a somewhat reliable source who works in a concert promoting house here in mexico. I just hope this to be true. I am seriously loosing it while typing this. hahaha. Image[/url]

Hmmmmm.... (strokes chin).
Nope.

I don't see anything about this with google search so I wouldn't hold your breath.

There is the Mutek festival coming up and Oneohtrix Point Never is playing apparently:

...but that poster thingy does not seem to be for the Mutek festival.

In researching this I did find this:

I don't remember that...was that real? Couldn't be right?

Does Festival NRMAL happen twice a year? Maybe it's a promotion for next years?

I did a quick search and apparently the festival in question are announcing their 2015 lineup on 7th November....

The poster in your link and the "poster" in OP's link are looking oddly similar, same logo, same yellow (without the color edit ofc) oh boy :o

That's what I was thinking - looks quite legit, unless it is a design draft and the designer has put their 'fantasy' lineup on there.

Much as I'd genuinely love to be wrong, we've kind of been here before several times. I'm calling this as a wind-up, once again tempting fate

Even without BoC there, that is a great line up.. even just for Swans and Aphex.

I was sent this screenshot of the poster by a guy who works with the promoters. I sincerely can't assure it's real but what strikes as unusual is that the poster was sent to me 3 days ago and the general art for the lineup anouncement which is yet to happen has the same logo, colors, etc.

That's all i'm excited about.

This is gonna put my 'any price, any distance' mantra to the test innit. If its real I mean.

I wonder why Mexico?

Clearly 'cause it's close to Texas! :D

And why not Mexico? There are lots of people here who would enjoy to see them live. Also if my memory serves me well there used to be some spanish used in the beginning of the tomorrow's harvest riddle website thing. Something like "cosecha mañana"

I mean I don't think it's entirely unlikely this is true, we'll see. Surprised it's a festival show, and not something where they can be elaborate. At least from past comments their conception of a live show seems pretty elaborate - it'd be weird for them to return in a limited capacity.

But yeah, if it's gonna happen, 2015 seems fairly likely - not too long since the last record, realistic amount of time for them to prepare a live show. I fucking hope so.

why they do the show on the other side of the world, when their based fanbase is in the uk?

If it is real, then there will most likely be other N. American dates around this one. It would be very unlikely that they would do a one off in Mexico. They have a LOT of N. American fans too...well worth a N. American tour.

I am still not convinced this is real. I will believe when its published on Warp's site or Bleep or their own site.

I understand you, a tour makes more sense, but I just think that prerogative, in theory, should be uk, in my logical sense
