Voices in the static in Societas X Tape

Tue May 05, 2020 4:49 am

Don't know if this deserves it's own thread but I've been kind of curious if anyone can help me decipher those little static bits in between tracks. Not saying they're subliminal messages but I finally started paying attention to them and now I'm curious.

This is the bit at the beginning. It's very hard to understand what's being said so I slowed it down and also reversed and played it forward: http://www.mediafire.com/file/8pf30f86l ... e.wav/file

This ones a bit more clear. After Mother Goddess of the World, the voice says "diagonal three six" but then I lose it: http://www.mediafire.com/file/cf9d8tgjt ... x.wav/file

In a perfect world, these would actually be some kind of clues in a new ARG but I know that's wishful thinking. Still, have fun guessing :)

I tried this: https://github.com/deezer/spleeter but didn't get anything coherent, as there is so much noise.

I think the voice says "diagonal science ship" or "diagonal signs". I can also hear something like "try the gate" just before "diagonal ...".

Since TH and their interview where they said that there is more hidden inside TH than any other album (or whatever they said) I feel like they have not pulled off this whole hidden message vibe as well as they think they have or would have hoped. If there are messagesin there then they are far too cryptically hidden for any of us to get a start on or if they are simply hidden in audio then they are too deeply in very narrow freq bands. Maybe their setup, monitors, acoustic treatment etc etc is all laid in a natural combination that unknowingly accentuates certain freqs that they have flukely put these messages in and they are audible enough for them but for others/us/everyone else they just don't pop out.

Maybe *shrugs*

who remembers high school maths?

Is diagonal three six not part of the formula for calulating something to do with a hexigon?

I've listened to Tomorrow's Harvest countless times but I can barely pick out any messages at all just from listening to it. I feel Geogaddi was a lot easier to find secrets, most of which are just by playing things backwards

Societas X Tape is a lot closer to Harvest in that it's really hard to make out these mumblings in the static.

Anyway, I've found another one:

54:22:0 right after "Here in the Wind tower..." It sounds like Two Thirty Two. or Two Thirty Four. Interesting because "Here In The Windtower the fearful forces plot their pattern by proxy and one day we'll know" is one of those snippets that seem to hint at the future.

I am pretty sure the wind tunnel clip comes from something like this. Pay attention to the airplane sounds. If anyone has time to dig through these...

Also very interesting if this is true, plus the challenger disaster in 35000 feet, there definitely seems to be a space theme going on here. Would love to hear space themed album.
