I was a bit surprised that topic was up as long as it was.

Would've reported, if not for the fact that a mod had already edited the title- so I figured it was on the radar.

Sorry for the potentially stupid question, but why was that post allowed to stay up for so long? Why not delete it straight away instead of changing the title?

It's very simple. We didn't spot it. Once it was flagged I removed it immediately and contacted the OP.

From what I can tell, us mods didn't change the title at any point?

Bottom line, please flag stuff like this to us. I'm sure it's all very innocent, but we've been specifically asked to remove this kind of thing.

It looked to me like some sort of automatic string recognition and replacing, which caught part of the offending info but not all of it. But i would have assumed the mods knew about such functionality. Someone would have had to come up with a list of offending text... ?

Flagging posts is great, but I was talking to Aesthetics last night about this and the problem with that is the system doesn't actually let us know when a flag has been logged. We have to manually go and check this instead and so it's easy for them to be missed.

Instead, can I ask that you PM us mods directly if you'd like us to check something out for review. That way we get emailed, drawing our attention to the issue.
