What is with the Old Tunes drum loops?

Mon Aug 27, 2007 4:13 am

I haven't been able to come up with why these tracks use the drum loops:

spectrum=twoism
Sequoia=not sure but there is a fill that is used in another track i believe
5-9-78=oirectnine (i think)
track 8-ot vol.1 sideA=june 9th
track 2-ot vol.1 sideB=Seeya Later
Orange Hexagon Sun=Turquoise Hexagon Sun (duh)

Tell me if there are any i missed. I suppose these were the first attempts with these drum loops, but it almost seems fishy that they would be sophisticated enough at that time to make a drum loop so interesting as hexagon sun.

there's been lots of topics about this, man. the answer to the question is unknown. maybe they just like sampling themselves, rather than other people.

I dunno. I'm not surprised. People rip themselves off all the time... that includes myself!

Yeah. I know at least 3 tracks that uses the June 9th drumloop.

But to be honest, it fits pretty well in all of them. :wink:

it's either being lazy or you just like that beat sooo much, that you would like to use it again in a different song.

we're talking early 90s, late 80s, they were probably through a good few private releases =P

idk but orange hexagon sun is an awesome song...every one thinks that the beat is on the downbeat when it's really on the up it gets me everytime until the drums tie it together.
