one day im gonna rue the whirl... honestly, mate that track is good, but not excellent. it depends on what ur looking for. its certainly not epic. but it reminds me of being fuct outa ur head when everything is confusion. people are saying things to u but dont hear them. your seeing events but not interpreting them. the track, i reckon, is like being in a daze. it fits perfectly on the album... brings u down from roygbiv and makes aquarius even more special. (btw listening to roni size/represent : lets get it on)

i'm going to be hated for saying that now but i am sticking by my word.

Rue the Whirl is actually one of my favorite tracks. I love the way it cuts and repeats.
It was perfect for my drive home from work today. Country roads, full moon, moderately heavy snow falling. Awesomeness.
The ONLY BoC track I don't really care for is Energy Warning.

ok this is good. everone must have one track they dont like from releases.
its ok, let it out....

pretty much the only track that i can think of that may be a slight step down from the boc magic in my opinion is "chinook"..

Probably either Gyroscope or.... well.... honestly, I think BOC could have cut 3-4 minutes out of Happy Cycling. I mean.. I actually really love the track (especially the way it ends) but not THAT MUCH of the track, if that makes any sense.
I've always liked Energy Warning.. somehow it just melds well with the beach at redpoint.

While there isn't any particular BoC track I 'hate'... There are a few that I find myself skipping more often than not.
Twoism
I've always found the main melody in this track to be really 'whiny' like a baby or something. It's okay, but not good enough to be the title track of the EP.
Turquoise Hexagon Sun
I often find the bass in this track to be a bit heavy-handed, and it doesn't really go many places. It's interesting though, and recently I have been giving it more of a chance.
Zoetrope
I find it to be superficially really repetative and not terribly interesting. It is certainly unique in BoC's catalogue though.
To be honest, most of 'Geogaddi' is still sinking in for me...

Gyroscope
I agree, BoC should have cut a few minutes out of happy cycling.
Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:52 am
aww cmon! gyroscope is an amazing song! so subtley melodic and deeply unsettling! not to mention completely original...
Fri Feb 10, 2006 5:44 am
i dont like it...

I also don't like Rue The Whirl and Chinook. Basefree, Forest Moon; and The Devil Is In The Details can get annoying with repeated Geogaddi listening.

i would have to say 'twoism' is one of my favourites. i've never liked 'amo bishop roden'

I already made a thread about this some time ago, but anyways...I don't really care for Rue The Whirl either, it's probably the worst track on MHTRTC but I still listen to it from time to time. I don't like Zoetrope either, it's the only flaw in IABPOITC.

Wait. I stand corrected. I don't like "Chinook" at all. I listen to Gyroscope and (of course) Happy Cycling. But I NEVER listen to Chinook.

There is no such thing for me as the worst BOC track ever

For me it's good or fantastic

I'd expected as much Ross, in particular considering that 'Twoism' shares a common vocal sample (and possibly percussive elements) with 'Spectrum'.

weel spotted sanchez.
i'd like to say i noticed it before but alas, i cannot.
don't know about the drums, your probably right.
i think twoism is a little slower than spectrum.

...i could not agree more...out of every one of their tracks ever produced (that ive heard at least) each and every one keeps the near perfect standard of deepness beauty and melody..."chinook" just happens to be the only one that id say is almost noticably less than meeting their regular standard, if that makes sense..
