kaleidoscope question

Sat May 14, 2011 8:58 pm

I am going on vacation in a few days, and I wanted to bring my BoC kaleidoscope to look through on the beach while I'm listening to our favorite artists. I'm a little concerned of the liquid part breaking on the plane ride from the altitude pressure changes. Is this a foolish concern?

Shameless bragging?

How does it feel to see through a BoC's kaleidoscope? I mean, I always wanted to own one of those

And your concern doesn't seem too foolish to me, though I've never heard of something similar breaking on a plane ride.

You have nothing to worry about, there isnt enough pressure or vaccume to break glass both in the plane or in the luggage hold. Even if there was then the liquid inside wouldnt allow the glass to be compressed or expanded anyway. Just pack it safely so it doesnt get bent by anything on top of it.

Try taking some photos threw it too, i'd like to see what a boc kaleiodscope is like :)

No, not bragging. I actually thought a bunch of people on this site would have one.

It feels really good to listen to Geogaddi and look through it. If you ever see one on ebay I recommend picking one up.

It's actually acrylic as far as I can tell, or some kind of hard plastic. I bought it on ebay about 4 or 5 years ago and it has a small chip in it around the edge of the base of the liquid part (I probably should have mentioned that). The person who had it before me dropped it apparently.

As far as pictures, I have already taken some through it recently. They came out ok but they were not from natural light. I will take some more pictures when I'm on my trip on the beach and post them here about a week from now (As long as it survives the plane).

Oooh, that 2nd link is great, and the music is fantastic. Apparently the music is by bogdan raczynski, who i've never heard of. Time to check them out. Thanks Saakki.

That's a pretty good idea, taking my BoC kaleidoscope to the beach. I think I'll do that this summer. [/shameless bragging] heh heh heh. 8) 8)

Those videos were great. Especially the first one. That is pretty much what it looks like. I will still try and post a good picture when I get back.

I love that kaleidoscope, mainly because it's a BoC one of course. But, I am not a fan of traditonal Jewl Kaleidoscopes. I really wish they would have released it as a Teleidoscope, so anything you point it at looks multiplied much like the Geogaddi artwork.

A Teleidoscope would have been cool too. I wonder how much influence the brothers had over the kaleidoscope's design with respect to the jewels.
