Hi all. I'm Grant, age 20, currently in Swansea in Wales. The ugly lovely town seems to have alot in common with elements BOC's music. It really resonates with me. I first heard them about 3 years ago, with MHtRtC. Listening to that whilst strolling along Rhossili beach in the Gŵyr at dawn is one of the supreme experiences on this earth and I'll forever be greatful to Mike and Marcus for providing that. :)

Edit: Corrected.

Welcome. Surely You mean Mike and Marcus, not Marcus and Eoin.

I definitely did, just a slip of the tounge. ...Er, keyboard. :P In my defense I was incredibly tired when I wrote that.

Hello, i'm 18 and from Paris, I started really listening to Boards Of Canada about a year ago. I have several friends who listen to the same kind of music. I also like warp, IDM, techno or minimal (Minilogue, Trentemoller, Nathan Fake, James Holden...) and abstract hip hop (blockhead, flying lotus).

Welcome both of you :)

Hello fellow Boc Fans.
I'm from Dublin Ireland but I have been living in the North west of Spain these last four years. I have been coming and going to this site for nearly two years now and it's time I think to join in. There has been quite a few threads that have nearly made me attempt to post but I'd then remember I'm not registered:roll:
I hope I will be able to bring something to this fine fourm, apart from secret information about the new album, which I have none.
Oh yeah! I was first introduced to Boards of Canada in a rock bar in Dublin back in 99 and I have been falling in and out of love with over the years but for the last couple of years I've been madly in love with them. I must be maturing.
I love to listen to Acid ,Drone, Techno, Electro, Ambient, shoe-gaze and whole bunch other stuff that I'm sure many of you would feel the same about.

Many Regards
Nigel

Nice! Alot of the labels I work with are Dublin-based. Quite a burgeoning scene there recently.

Andddd Spain is one of my favorite places in the world. Beautiful country! Whereabouts do you stay? Bilbao and Burgos are about as far Northwest as I have made it unfortunately :/

Welcome!

Thank's Phasen!
I live in Galicia, which is squashed on to the west coast above Portugal. I love it here. It has it down points but where doesn't.
I'm slowly getting familiar with the underground music been made here. They really like their Hip-hop and Punk . There is an electronic scene but I have yet to get into it. That should change a bit next month as Sonar is been held here in Coruna. It got bunch of well known acts playing. The likes of FlyLo, lcd and Broadcast, which I can't wait to see live at last. The festival has an area for Galician electronic / dance acts . So I'm going catch up fairly quickly.

The Electronic scene in Dublin has been banging away now for the last two decades, thank God. I try and keep in touch as much as I can. There's some real great music been made. In fact along with literature, art and drinking, it's the only things we seem to do right. You should get over there, you will have a ball.

You're music sounds great by the way.
You're all such talented sods 8)

Haha thanks to you as well. Look up my buddy Rumorse on myspace or somewhere...I'm not sure of exactly where in Spain he is, but his music is amazing and I know he is Spain-based. Very much into the BoC type stuff as well. Maybe you guys could meet up for a jam session one weekend or something?

EDIT: well I see now that Rumorse stays in Valencia these days. Kind of far from where you are at :( Either way, here is his stuff- http://www.myspace.com/rumorse Welcome again, nice to meet you.

Hi everybody
I live in Berlin, Germany and I'm 17 years old.
I got into BoC last summer when I listened to Geogaddi the first time...After spending some time on this forum (almost every day for maybe two months now) I finally decided to write something :D
So I guess that's it for now...

Hey guys! I'm Dan. I'm new here. Thought it would be appropriate to sign up to this forum, since it is dedicated to my favorite band of all-time!

Nice name! Hi dan. Saw you on here and thought it would be okay to welcome you. Just wait till the "higher-authority" people welcome you. Then you will feel quite special. 8)

People other than me basically. Oh well, that's just the view of a naive child such as myself.
As for the autograph thing, just take a paper and write your name on it.

Dude, don't be so hard on yourself. You're a talented musician and a fine young man.

And welcome Dan. This is indeed the place to be.

A bit of an inferiority Synth? I kind of felt that until the tinychat meetings, and just got talking to the people here etc.

Amounts of posts really do not matter so much when there are such nice members here, regardless of the layout. Like somebody said, Twoism is the nexus of so many good things as we are drawn together by music that requires patience and an open mind to even comprehend the music of BoC. With open-mindedness usually comes a great personality and a high probability of intelligence and depth.

I agree with everything except the intelligence part. You don't have to be intelligent to love BoC. I'm the living proof of that.
