This whole album is pretty brilliant. Has that fever dream churn to it. Unmask Whoever is the album title.

Multi family garage sale (bargain bin mix) by land of the loops

The bass line, chopped vocals & nostalgic atmosphere...this is pure gold!

Captain Sensible, Wot. That piano line and the key changes are kind of uncanny. The whole song reminds me of BoC.

Side note - I found this through the FX show Legion. If you're a fan of Boards of Canada + psychedelic cinema, it's a must watch. But I don't want to get too off topic about the show.

Hard to call anything Soft Cell makes "uplifting", but most songs that remind me of BoC tend to have some gloom to them either way.

In here is a tragedy, art thou player or audience?
Be as it may, the end doth remain:
all go on only toward death.
...
There is nothing which cannot become a puppet of fate
or an onlooker, peering into the cage.

I recently played my copy of "Gentlemen Take Polaroids" by Japan and never really realized how much these two tracks remind me of Old Tunes era BoC

Sharpe And Numan - Change Your Mind

The real definition of a one-hit-wonder, the short lived Bill Sharpe and Gary Numan super-duo! :D

That deep bassline reminds me of the Treat 'Em Right remix and a couple tracks off Hi Scores. 8)
Some 808 state or Acid House influence as well.

Great track that I've recently rediscovered. It was a real oddity from a very unlikely partnership. I think Bill Sharpe was in Shakatak or something similarly funky

Not really a new wavish track, but this band is cited amongst the pionners of new wave and synthpop:

I just relistened to it for the first time in years, and it gave me a BOCish vibe.
