I have to say after watching the sampled scene my appreciation of it has shifted.
It's one of those excerpts in documentary film where the situation's rawness comes through. The father's look and demeanour feels like he is breaking down emotionally, his son spaced out and helpless. Religious thought aside, it's not funny or even quirky. Too heartbreaking. It would take an all too dark sense of humor to meme about it. I'm not acquainted with fatherhood like the brothers are, but it fucks me up so much.
