I have to say after watching the sampled scene my appreciation of it has shifted.

It's one of those excerpts in documentary film where the situation's rawness comes through. The father's look and demeanour feels like he is breaking down emotionally, his son spaced out and helpless. Religious thought aside, it's not funny or even quirky. Too heartbreaking. It would take an all too dark sense of humor to meme about it. I'm not acquainted with fatherhood like the brothers are, but it fucks me up so much.

When I first heard it, I thought they may have sampled it because Scottish people find the stoopid hillbilly type accent of the son kind of amusing, in an Old Tunes style. Now, knowing the source, and the father trying to get his son out of the cult, and the som brainwashed into thinking his family are his foes/enemies… Like, there was a definite purpose putting this in here right? It’s no longer Old Tunes messing around. It’s coming from somewhere personal? And then the next track is hell/purgatory with hare krishnas chanting in hell. Again, initially seems to be a piss-take, but may not be. We have a track called “All Reason Departs” and references to the first elements of the universe, deep time and geology… You Retreat In Time And Space and “seeing through” Platonia (not “seeing” Platonia, but “seeing through” it). What is going on?!

The real impact of that scene is the interview after the segment the samples were pulled from. He says something to the effect of "That's not the same boy I raised" and he realizes his son has been consumed by the cult. Scary shit for a parent to watch!

In my humble opinion, you know what else is a demonic mockery of human speech/works? GenAI.

Both resonate with me. AI is only is as good or as evil from which the information it pulls from.

There's definitely a gray space where it can be used in more or less nefarious ways, but I personally believe that genAI in its current scale and application is mired in the original sin of exploitation. It's a capitalist vampire machine.

All right, still jams, but after learning more about the cult from which the sample is from… um yeah. I was curious about it and did some digging… shit is still around to this day and how it starts vs where it’s at now… yall need to look this up holy shit!!

It is kind of crazy… I watched a modern documentary (I will link it) about this exact cult back a year and a half ago. I didn’t make the connection when Inferno dropped bc of their numerous name changes, but I am shocked. Rabbit-hole continues to get deeper.

A consistent theme with Inferno is that this is the furthest their concept of “deceptively innocent” has gotten… to literal extremes. Appearing that way in a modest percentage (in a sort of tongue-in-cheek manner) is always cute, but appearing innocent with the intent to deceive… yeah. That is never good (and usually what cults and demons are always up to). Deep stuff! I’ll leave it to yall.
Divinity works in powerful and mysterious ways.

So I listened to this track in hopes of figuring out some of the super distorted voices in the track, heres what I got:

Timecode:
1:09 "I'm the devil"(?)
1:19 (I can't make any of it out but theres def some reversed shit going on)
1:21 "in the end (???)"
1:53 "I am family sinner"(???)
2:00 According to BOCpages this voice has been 'figured out' to say "Lets see, I've lost track
2:19 "I am Omega"
2:33 "I am a ????" (maybe outright: Armageddon)
2:53 "You are the Alpha"?
2:25 "for your brother"
2:29 female sings "(??) face me"?

Some samples reappear but I was lazy to pint them out, tbh

^ nice work. Towards the end the repeated “Alpha” and “Omega” samples begin to sound like they’re arguing with one another.

Sad but understand why this track was rated “hardest listen”. Though I hope that means it LISTENS THE HARDEST

I think a lot of this is incorrect unfortunately. First instance is at 0:56 and is definitely "Allahu Akbar." 1:09 is "Down with the Empire." There's an intentional contrast between Christian dogmatic exchanges and a darker filtered voice that sometimes includes Middleastern religious counterpoints; and at other points the creepy darker filtered voice is directly contradicting the main vocal exchange of the song. I would be remiss to point out the fact that this is yet another instance within the record that involves discourse between varying religions, their dogma, and their practice.

The "Allahu Akbar" voice was actually the first "creepy" voice sample I noticed upon first listen of Inferno.

don't know that i've said it already but the fucked up vocal samples in this track are just bar-none some of my favorite shit they've ever done. i can't imagine what all they did. i yearn to have mangled up a tape in that way. wow wow. and so perfectly percussively placed. jesus

nah that's the new "Yeah, that's right" - a rejoinder, a rebuttal, a response, rather than a standalone statement
