Man I love this track.

After I read the interview http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/ju ... nihilistic and I read when Sandison said "There's actually more use of subliminals on this record than on any previous album we've done, so we're interested to see what people will pick up on." I've been listening for super buried subliminal messages, and in this song, I think I can hear, at 1:06, what sounds like reversed symbols at first listen, but actually I think it's a whispering vocal. I can't make out what it says but it's bloody brilliant. As far as what the main vocal sample is in the B section.. IDK, to me I kind of hear "Me against them, me against them, just me against - me - The universe- We live- we- (and then that sharp sound comes in which sounds like a super treated vocal samp that concludes the sentence but I can't make that out at all. That's what my mind hears, but all in all, I think I'm wrong... and I really believe that it is some other language, maybe Middle Eastern or somewhere in the Mediterranean region. Hmmmmmm...

We can't rule out that the vocals might be in a language besides English. When played in reverse they sound almost foreign, maybe even to this planet.
There were drones..

Agreed!
I know everyone has their own references but I do think that the beat of this song reminds me a lot of Tricky's "Overcome" which would be mixed with the bouncing ball xylophone from Björk's "Venus As A Boy"...just LOVE IT!!! And yes that bass line...

this ended up one of my favorites in the end, because of how "Old-Tunesy" it is.

The beginning reminds me of Iced Cooly.

So I went digging a bit through Fabio Frizzi, John Harrison and Mark Isham's work after the link the interview lead to Fabio Frizzi's Main Theme of Zombi and then caught this.. frankly I think it is likely this influenced Palace Posey note the synth at 2:53

yeah Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu are some great Japanese composers.

It would be wrong of me to say that my musical taste was not shaped from exposure to their work,

I thought that when I listened to this track on vinyl I'd pick up the words used at the end but I still cannot decipher them and its bothering the fuck out of me!

Maybe someone else who doesn't have tinnitus could do a better job than I can lol

I have a feeling they aren't intelligible even if we were able to isolate them. No one's ever been able to make more than a few words out of telephasic workshop even after all these years and even then we're just guessinf. Think it'll be the same for this one. I think some of the other songs have vocals we'll be able to make out though.

I like "be a dancer" though, because that part always makes me want to dance (and most of the time I do!)

This song is perfect for drying your clothes as the beat has a kind of 'dryer' rhythm to it.
