so if i am taking this the right way.....is there some hidden scheme by which the entire album secretly flows together in a way that's even better than the intended tracklist?

if so....wow

So what exactly would this supposed new track order be?

Loving the Black Sabbath avatar btw mikektm450 - even if that's a shockingly bad album!

As to one long mix. Been working on it for the last two nights. Some of it works really well. Some of it.... less well....

I do think there is something in this though.

Care to elaborate on this? Which tracks did you try and at which times did you mixed them?

Boost the volume of Transmissones Ferox towards the outro and you will hear the lead in pad for Sundown in the background .

From the Guardian interview:

Some tracks deliberately finish earlier than you want them to, like actual cues in older soundtracks where they've been ripped out of much longer original masters that nobody ever gets to hear.

Yeah this is real . But if we are thinking all tracks magically line up they don't however there is a magic album order . i'm finishing uploading the ones that i think are "twins" now .

Next up Gemni & Collapse . I'll keep you guys posted

EDIT here's Gemini & Collapse

I was skeptical about Collapse & White Cyclosa

However if you listen in the end of collapse and boost the volume you hear a distinct noise pattern .
That pattern is helicopter blades and they are bit crushed and noise saturated . When you align that pattern with the first part of White Cyclosa the sounds from both files add to each other and made the sound more distinct . It also leads perfectly into the bass for Cyclosa right at the end of Collapse .

You're doing great work, it would be great to know the exact overlap time for each track twin so we can redo this at home without you uploading the entire mixed album? Would that be ok?

I'm going to go through it all again and post exact tracks times . I didn't save the first few Ableton projects by accident .

I will post the numbers here and on soundcloud when I make sure I can get the exact ones for everyone .

I'm starting to think that the reason these may flow into each other nicely is to provide an easy layout for live shows. :D

this might still end up being a double album. i wouldnt be all that surprised if another album came out in the next few months, that go along with the same scheme as this one.

i am impressed enough with this album for it to be enough, and done..

but i am just saying, i wouldnt be surprised if more is to come.

This is clearly a musical cycle meant to represent the death and birth of civilizations through the palindromic structure of the song list. The rebuilding is the stages of grief in reverse order.

By putting the second half in reverse and overlaying it onto the first, the idea is made more clear (1, 17, 2, 16, 3, 15, 4, 14, 5, 13, 6, 12, 7, 11, 8, 10, 9). Overlapping them in that order works even better.

You could also turn that new order inside out and get a a double reverse with a similar effect, if that makes sense. 9 (Telelpath — remember, this is the reverse of the overlaid order) , 10 (Nothing is Real), 8 (Sundown), 11 (Cold Earth), 7 (Jaquard Causeway), 12 (Uritual), 6 (New Seeds), 13 (Transmisiones Ferox), 5 (White Cyclosa), 14 (Split Your Infinities), 4 (Come To Dust), 15 (Sick Times), 3 (Reach for the Dead), 16 (Palace Posy), 2 (Semena Myrvichtyksticcky, 17 (Collpase), 1(Gemini)). Overlapping works well there, too.

Seems to be a palindrome within a palindrome.

I agree. Although I don't think the stages on each side are the same, but rather the yin to the other half's yang.

I see the first half of the album representing the downward slope, and the second half the upward slope, in a spherical cycle, in both title and tone. The change in tone in Semena Mertvykh signals the end of the upward slope, which could be viewed as the current state of mankind.

I Like things in threes. Maybe one more churn inside out would do it. I've had too many beers. I do know that puts "White Cyclosa" ("Always There ... In Our Hearts") at the beginning, at least. And if you go inside out from there, "Telepath" and "Gemini" back to back at the end. Intriguing, Ends with the plane sound, but the one from the from the first original track rather than the last original track.

Flipping the original order would put "Gemini" at the end, too. But this seems more complicated and awesome.
