The collapse of society isn't an apocalypse. An apocalypse is either a revelation or, in modern terms, the end of the world, something of a magnitude much greater than a collapse.

A13 from R35TT (maybe a remaster would help a little)

Hahaha... but that's the best track on R35TT (I'm serious)

It's on par with 5d at least, if nothing else.

I might agree with you on the others, Light Clear Hair and PC are obviously worthless, as a lot of OT vol. 1 is to me if I'm honest. It's my least favourite of their unreleased material by some margin.

But I've thought A13 was one of the most beautiful and powerful pieces of ambient music I've heard from them from the start.

As for my selections: A12 is one track I do not like. Cheesy, 80's sounding synthpop groove which is exactly what I don't listen to BoC for. And The Way You Show is the worst thing they've ever committed to tape.

There are many insignificant Old Tunes tracks which either do nothing for me or I actively dislike but it's not worth mentioning them all here. I will say that while I don't dislike it, Boqurant's never really done a lot for me so I find it strange that it's so talked about.

No need to apologise, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one - while some of the old tunes could really do with a remaster I actually don't mind the quality of A13's recording at all, I think it has a lot of texture and character as it is. I actually think it has a surprisingly dark aesthetic which very much sounds like the basis for the formula used in Everything You do is a Balloon - a neutral beat layered against very gloomy, ominous synth pads and an extremely melancholic yet uplifting melody. Dat atmosphere. Both those tracks evoke the same awe-stricken, pensive feeling in me. Powerful stuff.

Agree with your sentiments about each Old Tunes. V2 has the fantastically structured vignettes and Buckie High, OTV1 is the least consistent but its' most redeeming factor is a couple of the longer tracks - 5.9.78 (of course), Forest Moon, maybe Finity and Skimming Stones and I personally really dig She is P. R35TT is a mixed bag but it has the highest highs of the three, no doubt.

All 3 are terrible and when somebody says "apocalypse" they mean the end of the world in a broader way- like a collapse of the whole society(something tells me the brothers didn't use a dictionary and wikipedia while answering the question)

Old tunes is great, its basically the odds and ends of tracks they've made.

Really? Two guys with multiple songs about God spread throughout all of their major releases (including the one we're talking about) don't know the biblical definition of the word apocalypse? Huh. I find that hard to believe.

Truth be told, I didn't even know that until someone brought it up in a thread here on this site, so it isn't like it's a theory that hasn't already been put out there. For that exact reason, it isn't like you're wrong to say people use apocalypse in the way you have said they do. They do. I took you saying Tomorrow's Harvest was anything but apocalyptic to be a missed reference to an interview or something that I vaguely recall hearing about. If I'm wrong, then let me know.

I formed and then expressed my interpretation of Tomorrow's Harvest based on the sum of the whole of my experiences with the music of Boards of Canada and with the extensive discussion we've all had here on this site. To me, it is about some kind of ecological or societal Collapse, an apocalypse (Palace Posy), and the New Seeds (See what I did there?) that will eventually grow. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. Who cares? I guess that's the beauty of music.

2. MHTRTC and TCH artwork are very similar in colour.. I like it when a band's album artwork is distinctive from one album to the next.
