playing now :)

didn't know that the original pressing had a braille sticker on it

tomorrow, The Campfire Headphase arrives on record!

Nice one oscillik, always sounds better on vinyl as far as I'm concerned. Please elaborate on the braille sticker? I bought MHTRTC about 4 months after it came out(Sept 1998 if I remember), and there is no braille sticker on my pressing. Is it the same as the braille stockers on Hi Scores & the Aquarius single?

yeah, definitely does sound better (and roygbiv sounds AMAZING pitched down). just took a picture of the sleeve, with the braille sticker. according to the 2004 repress the original pressing has the sticker.

here's a pic i just took

When I first bought some Skam releases which had this braille stickers stickers on them, I thought it was a cool way of them to distinquish themselves from other labels. I still do though.. but it still is odd why there aren't more labels who do this. I mean, I always imagined that music would be of an even greater impact if one is deaf. So picking up music would be more fun if there is braille on it.

On the subject, my original copy doesn't have braille on it.

i still think it's a really great way for them to distinguish themselves. i wish i hadn't missed out on the bright purple Warp tshirts...i had a chance to get one before they stopped selling them, but i didn't get paid when i should have :( Warp's purple, and Skam's braille are great trademarks, and as you say - using the braille was a genius stroke.

about the braille...either the information on discogs is incorrect, or maybe only a few original pressings had the sticker? i can only speculate :-s

either way, i'm just glad to have this on wax - i have begun my respectable BoC record collection!

Its for sale though..€ 850,-

I think it's funny how the Discogs page says "Limited to 10 copies" and then right underneath it says "11 have this."

i now have these on vinyl:

TWOISM (2002 repress)
Music Has The Right To Children
Geogaddi
The Campfire Headphase

Geogaddi arrived today, and i had no idea that it's a 180gram pressing...i wonder why discogs doesn't mention this?

then again, if you look at this maybe it explains why

This is the reason I only ever submitted one record to discogs. I mean look at that discussion! It's like everyone writing in it is mildly retarded and analphabetic.

I must admit it made me laugh several times while reading it though. I love that Jean-Luc Picard ASCII facepalm.

This is a British record. I think you'll find it's a full stop.

almost forgot about this...

i have a promo poster for The Campfire Headphase that was sent out to HMV stores here in the UK. the guy i was living with at the time managed to get hold of a pack of about 15 of these, and gave me one.

thought it might be interesting to someone here

i think it's either A2 or just smaller, so it's not too shabby really.

just the standard releases on cd and vinyl

the only rare thing i have is the Aquarius 7"

also made my own cheeky bootleg double-cd package of few old tunes 1&2

well it seems to be that anything by Boards of Canada on vinyl is rare now, so if you have the standard releases on vinyl then you have more rare BoC than you think ;)

I started my boc vinyl collection just last month and found some pretty good deals, especially geogaddi for only $60! All in NM/Mint condition. I'm curious as to what others have paid, or are willing to pay as the vinyl releases become more rare. If only the campfire headphase and MHTRTC will show up somewhere for a fair price...

twoism 12” LP - $25 + $4 shipping
hi scores 12” - $20 + $4 shipping
peel session 12” - $17.50 + $4 shipping
in a beautiful place in the country 12” EP blue vinyl - $25 + $5 shipping
geogaddi 3x12” LP - $60 + $5 shipping
trans canada highway 12” EP white vinyl - $23 + $5 shipping

Aquarius £40 (eBay)
Twoism £30 (discogs)
Music Has The Right To Children £60 (discogs)
Geogaddi £64 (discogs)
The Campfire Headphase £24 (eBay)

all are in near mint condition, except The Campfire Headphase which has some scratches (and hence needs replacing).

Those certainly were good deals there

Sun Sep 06, 2009 1:15 am

woo hoo! i'm so thrilled i just won the campfire headphase on vinyl for $38 plus $4 shipping on ebay! what a deal!

now for the bad news. i think i was scammed on the geogaddi and IABPOITC lps i bought from a guy on discogs last week, as I have yet to receive any records and there is nothing but radio silence from his end. maybe i'll hear something next week but i doubt it. to think that there are predators out there luring innocent boc fans with promises of cheap vinyl. that is so evil! i was livid until i found out today that my credit card will refund the transaction, since apparently i have fraud protection. but, yeah, be careful on discogs

by the way oscilik, if you're looking for a replacement copy of TCH, check out this place
