The Hell Interface FB page is legit and I'm pretty sure they were just trolling us with that flurry of activity back in April.
BOC have a history of posting on puppet and unverified accounts anyway so it's nothing new.

The ultimate question is why?

They seem to enjoy teasing us every so often.
Not exactly sure why.

Well if you were spending a couple years painstakingly putting the finishing touches on your magnum opus, you’d want to send out a few proof-of-life pings to the fans here and there so they know you’re still at it somewhere in the sonic mines.

Heres a new theory. Maybe their kids just got hold of the laptop, while they went to make a cup of tea, and were mucking about...

I would imagine there is an atmosphere of secrecy within family limits to keep info from coming out, and how funny it would be for bored/pissed kid to lash out by doing so. What a very specific kind of way it would be to show angst.

A good sign on another music front:
https://store.mybloodyvalentine.org/ MBV have created a gorgeous and sleek store using the same platform as Bleep.
I think this bodes well for the future of MBV, and I think by extent, it might inspire BOC to get their butts out there too. Imagine if BOC set up a store like that; perhaps with expanded reissues of their four classic albums.

This is the Ochre e-commerce platform developed by Warp/Bleep and it's skyrocketed in popularity since launching a couple years ago. I see so many artists and labels using it nowadays, which is honestly pretty cool given its origins. I bet it's making a lot of money for Warp.
I completely agree though, I can totally imagine BoC utilising this platform further down the line, particularly for archival releases.
Aphex did the same thing around 4 years ago, although he's not really maintained it as much as everyone hoped. (The store launched with a load of bonus material/expanded editions but barely anything has been added since.)
I think it's a safe bet that the next BoC release (if there is one) will coincide with the launch of a webstore built on this platform, especially as most Warp acts have their own designated Ochre page now.

Speaking about that Aphex site, it looks pretty much abandoned. Everything is sold out except for Cheetah and Collapse. I get a feeling the BOC website will be quite similar if they start putting out rare stuff on a first come, first serve basis.
Also concerning that Aphex synth they were selling, imagine if there was a BOC version called "The Secret Weapon"

(Could even have one of those proto-TH stickers they had on them during live performances)

Also mentioning that: "This year, Record Store Day has two drop dates: June 12 and July 17."
Fingers crossed even though we know it won't likely happen

Every moment the community starts to get a vague idea as to how BoC is announcing their next work, they push the date back a day and start from scratch with a new idea you won't guess this time. Keep in mind these are the guys that took years to get past a black square.

The weird thing is, I think you're right. It is basically a fact that them (or their handlers) read the forum. Though I couldn't truly imagine them doing it out of spite.
Regardless, it does make me think twice about speculating. Especially when you realize that the one thing they did on social media was something that we never would have guessed they'd do: troll with deepfakes and edgy pictures.

Sounds like that would be fun from their perspective but I really hope they aren't actively scrapping what they are working on if we happen to guess what it is... That would be kind of cruel and counterintuitive. Sure they're perfectionists but would they really throw out a bunch of work because some schmucks online came somewhat close to guessing what it is?

It's mostly just a joke. Just reminding you who you're dealing with. As sad as it is simultaneously hilarious, it's all as valid as the next poster most of the time.
We are a faithful, hopeful community.

Sweet Lord NO! Not the black square!
Dark days those were. Dark quadrilateral days...

We are a faithful, hopeful community.

The thing is though is that they've actively tried to subvert expectations with their albums, like TCH (which got a negative reaction for their deviations) and TH (which I think also subverts expectations by a being a John-Carpenter-esque soundtrack.) So I'm sure they're probably paranoid about fans guessing what they're doing next.
I mean, imagine if by chance, me or someone else was right with our wild guessing!
Regardless, I feel kind of bad now that I've tried so hard to guess what they're doing next. I'm going to refrain from doing that if they truly read the forum. No use in doing that anyway since there's never any gratification from the artist themselves.
Edit: Also was the black square days after Tomorrow's Harvest? I wasn't there during them. But if the community really got worked up over that past-TH, that's sad nothing came to fruition.
I remember when people thought Harvest Ritual was going to be a new EP from them. Still sad that never happened.

Space is the "obvious" theme most are suggesting. What about musically? What style would prevail? We haven't heard much industrial and oriental types of music from them. Both were obvious influences and besides a couple of oddities in their discog we haven't heard much of those from them. (Basefree, Hi-Scores for industrial, maybe no oriental things at all?) Also New wave, Goth? All these were in SxT,
By exploring all these styles I've noticed that bros have much more in common with Spanish and Italian tape scenes than with anything else that was going on at that time in the UK.

Ech - The black box first appeared sometime around 2011, if memory serves me correctly. That, the NCD thing and the nuke bomb graphic. Those were the darkest of dark days.
