GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC

I've said it before. BOC don't put out albums they're not totally happy with, so they have no reason to release an alternate version of Geogaddi. And while I'm pretty sure a new release is on the way eventually, it's not going to be announced in the shadow of of one of their earlier works. It'll be its own thing.

It'd be awesome to be wrong, though.

We've already gotten our 20th anniversary acknowledgement, and it's the Twitter likes. That's it.

PS - The fact that Fredd-E has been (IMO overly) skeptical of certain things in the past should make the fact that he's stated there's no doubt as to the legitimacy of Mike's Twitter account all the more meaningful. If he's saying it's 100% certain, then it is.

The fact is, hoaxes are generally exposed relatively quickly. Fake pages and accounts don't linger for over a decade with a band that's incredibly protective of it's public image. But people can believe whatever they want. Far be it from me to force them to use basic logic.

What do we think is the possibility of an announcement tomorrow?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how optimistic are you? And why?

My prediction of events, from most likely to least likely:

1. Base level acknowledgement of anniversary - celebratory tweets/retweets from Warp and BoC
2. Minimal acknowledgement - simply a bunch of likes from the BoC Twitter account and nothing else
3. Nothing happening at all
4. New Geo-themed merchandise on Bleep
5. Something significant (new music/release/tour)

In summary, I'm confident the 20th anniversary will be acknowledged on a minor level.

This post sums up my feelings about the matter perfectly. To me, Geogaddi is my reason for being a hardcore BOC fan and opened the door for me into electronic music. To only have it acknowledged that way is a big let down, but I'm not surprised. Eventually being a BOC fan jades you into the inevitable and if you read my infinite amount of posts you can see my evolution from someone who jumped at everything potentially BOC related to being more like "it'll be finished when it's finished."

That said, happy birthday Geo Even after going through the whole Warp IDM catalog, you are still my favorite.
