This part of the VHS now makes more sense as

Six sided, flexible carrying P. Primer trigger recordings from the MBI institute

The "To your brother" loop, from a nostalgic McDonalds training video in conjunction with this being a Music70 release only kind of leads me to believe a couple of things:

1. The notion that they were under a 5 LP contract from Warp and that they fulfilled it for this one is true.

2. It is possible too that they were waiting to do the BOCSet until they got out of their contract. If the flexidisc confirms they've been released, they KNOW the BOCset will make them bank, so they'll do it now under Music70 and will barely have to do a thing to promote it.

3. They hate each other. It just sounds spiteful to me.

*goes to crosspost this in general speculation*

I missed the sample sourcing, thanks 2020k.

This makes a LOT of sense. I see your mind, old friend.

I opened up the album today, and the hexagon flexi-disc is placed inside the booklet between the double-page spread of people on horseback. The Métis were horseback riders. I think you are spot on.

Can someone else let us know if the flexi-disc was placed within the same pages in their record?

Interesting theory. The McDonald's sample being found yesterday (how do people do this so fast!) got me thinking something else though.

a) This is a cut extra track from inferno. The sample they took is plausibly readable, when you don't know what it is, as a religious recording and the fact it's from a corporate training video for a burger chain is funny in context. It's on theme for the record.
b) There was no way they were getting sample clearance for the jingle so they released the track under a fake name
c) They gave it away free so they couldn't be said to have sold it and made money from it
d) It was released under their own label to further separate it from Warp in case they did get chased for it

How the fuck did they find the sample this fast? Holy smokes.

“Bison hunters rode horses known as “buffalo runners.” These swift, powerful horses were needed to run straight and to maintain their speed while the hunters loaded, aimed and shot their guns. Good buffalo runners had to be carefully trained so they would not panic when running in the large bison herds. Hunting took a great deal of skill for both the horse and rider. Many Métis became successful ranchers and cowboys due to the useful skills they acquired from bison hunting.”

It's crazy how quickly all these vocal samples are being found. Perhaps this was done on purpose? I mean as far as I'm aware we still haven't found the source for the Nothing is Real "Jesus, was it you indeed" sample!

Regarding the heavy nods towards Christianity on this album - obviously BOC are pointing out the darker side of the religion. That's to be expected based on their past work and interviews. However, I do feel like they also point towards to good sides of Christianity on Inferno. The cults, abusive priests, the people 747 points out in this thread, they are only a small percentage of Christians that have ever walked the earth and billions of humans have followed Christ in an honest and positive way for over 2000 years.

Am I taking the piss or does anyone else see both sides being represented?

I don’t think you are. I see that too. I’m thinking about how In A Beautiful Place Out In the Country was partly about tuning into the perspective of the Branch Dividians.

Anyone else feel like the underlying melody in this tune is very reminiscent of the one in "Memory Death"? I kept hearing some similarity between a track on Inferno and couldn't remember which one until I compared it side by side. Also hear shades of I Saw Through Platonia as well.

What a nice surprise this was. Had a bit of time getting this to fit on my record player as it was a bit snug. I think that’s is intentional and that resistance from the record hole helps from keeping the flexi-disc from slipping while playing since it so light. Maybe not.

Nonetheless, I put this on right after my first spin of Inferno and it definitely fits the vibe of the album for me but, kind feels like it also meant to bridge the gap to something else.

Would be really cool if they released six of these. Maybe Volume 4 fits the best thematically with inferno? Dunno…

Haunting little track and again a very nice surprise.

I wonder what this track is meant to be because it feels alien to the rest of the album. Is this possibly an outtake from Inferno? Could this be an old unreleased track? I've seen some people argue that this could hint at a possible BOCset release in the near future but I'm not sure.

I’m still curious if anyone can confirm that the flexi-disc was placed within the double-page spread of the horseback riders in their record? If so, I think this substantiates 747’s discovery re Giraud.

Boom. This feels good to have unlocked, thanks to 747 finding the Giraud book. Seeing the imagery of the plains, horses, and brutalist-like structures was fascinating in contrast to the rest of the album art. I love how this is all associated with Native Americans in some way.

That the disc titled Giraud’s Mirror happens to be placed on a picture of horseback riders on a plain, when someone named Giraud wrote a book about famous horseback riders - the Métis people - does not seem coincidental.

The benefits of Christianity are FAR FAR outweighed by its absolute barbaric and nightmarish behaviors. Its hypocritical nature is a fervent reminder of its insidious and bastardized influence. The darkness is real.

There it is. I also just noticed that the Youtube upload has the image of the flexi-disc within same pages too. The placement is deliberate.
