Pretty sure at :55 they slipped in a chopped up "allahu ackbar". Interesting cos I don't think there's any other references to Islam on the album?

Also instant fav on first listen, all-timer. I did laugh, but laughter is by no means an indicator of bad art. It has a very abrupt ending, which is unusual for them, and I like it.
It's hard to describe why it's good in subtle terms - it's just an absolute heater

Yimino does similar vocal chops in many of their tracks but this one is outstanding. I also get some DJ Paul (Three 6 Mafia) vibes off of this and Naraka. Three 6 Mafia production, especially from the late 90's-early 2000's was incredible.

Many of the vocal chops sound like they've been ran through Adobe Enhance Speech at some point, which wouldn't be out of place considering Marcus studied AI in 90s. It actually provides a pretty interesting texture to the whole thing.

Me too, I love it so much. Manipulating the sample in such an “inappropriate” way is (I think) so similar to the “although not a follower…” melody in 1969 - it’s kind of amusing but at the same time really satisfyingly creepy/odd. Also the beat is perfect.

I doubt it's literally Adobe Enhance Speech but it sounds like some kind of AI tech was involved. The alternative would be to take speech + text-to-speech samples and mess with them. Some people mentioned using "Melodyne".

I really wonder what it is. What would be awesome is accessing some version of an AI speech generator that can be adjusted to hallucinate demonic sounds. I don't know how proprietary such tech is but I have the impression that it's only big companies that develop and have access to something like that. Normal people would be limited to trying to hack consumer-facing tools that aren't built for that.

The bros are hugely influential so I wonder what connections they have. There's a lot of singing on the record. I doubt Mike or Marcus did any of it. Is it all samples or did they get their "mates" to sing?

Also I want to emphasize how Aphex this is. It's got drums and drones similar to SAWII at the beginning, demonic voices and religious themes similar to Come To Daddy, a melodic jingle that sounds like Little Lord Fauntleroy mix a lot, some Windowlicker because of the ridiculous vocal samples and editing. I don't know if Aphex ever made a beat like that but it's very "trademark idm" as opposed to BoC's usual organic hiphop beat staple.
