I wouldnt mind solo records at all, it would be very interesting and im more than 100% sure that they would deliver classics on thier own.

I hope this isn't true.

I never said this was a new interview, just one that had not been generally known to us before now. The interview is
dated 2005/10/25. I'm sure if it had really said something about them breaking up, we'd have heard about it from other sources by now.

this is no surprise and at all, I thought everbody already new that solo records is coming...they already stated this.
I dont think they will ever split tho.
Mon Jul 02, 2007 10:05 pm
I mean why would they?
they also said that its so hard to release everything they do because some tracks that they make is so more electronic than even the most electronic tracks they released and some are more acoustic than the tracks on TCH...maybe some of these will end up on solo adventures..

OK, i have just forwarded the vibe-net interview to my wife at work, she says she is having a quiet day, so she may get a chance to have a crack at it....
(oh, and the japanese article in "bounce" isn't an interview, its just the japanese liner notes on the history of BoC (i think).

They said in The Wire interview they were both planning on moving away some time in the future, Mike to New Zealand and Marcus to Hong Kong. Maybe the solo stuff will be a result of that. Anyway, it's all just speculation, we'll definitely see at least one more BoC album.

Doesn't she look just like Laura Palmer?

1) why, oh why did this thread have to come back? it's bad times!
2) but on the other hand, look at what we've done here and what BoC have done to the musical community at large. even acts as big as Radiohead geeked out over them. then there are One on Twoism - mighty hulking beasts of nostalgic, creative electronic music. and don't forget the other releases that've come out like A Few New Tunes and all the artists like me whose work took a permanent turn in another direction after hearing BoC (i used to sound like really crappy industrial noise with bad production value). not to utter blasphemy, but would the world be so bad if BoC called it quits after the next album? their legacy is firmly in place. they've planted the seeds that will grow into beautiful music projects all around the world - i don't forsee any lack of beautiful electronic music in the future and it's largely thanks to them.
who knows? in 30 years when Cupz is a huge deal i may be a bigger fan of his stuff than BoC themselves. our musics are mostly pretty young still, anything could happen!

Thanks man! I figured it was appropriate. Like I said in the thread ryetronics posted, Clarke was pretty much a hero of mine.

the thread was revived because the vibe-net interview translation was requested of me from thedisavowed, and this was the appropriate thread as it was the topic started around the interview. i can also assure you there are far worse threads currently active in this sub-forum.
THE GUILTY PARTIES KNOW WHO THEY ARE.
i thought you might like to know that my wife has only the final paragraph left to translate, i've not even read it so far myself... she says she will try and finish it tomorrow.
