Yeah, that might be nice, but the point is they shouldn't have to. Sure, it'd probably only take a few minutes out of their time, but if we can't just wait for some important new without acting like "pesky" children, then I think our attention spans have shortened too much to handle another BoC album.

i see your point, but two years without any concrete news (not counting the boc update about t shirts) is quite a long attention span, imo. it's not like we're harassing the record company for news (nobody get any ideas) but we (or at least, I) have gotten frustrated/antsy about the subject.

there are two major problems with radio silence, firstly their releases get built up too much and then get examined too much, secondly they may quit and none of us would know...

if you ask the label politely you practically get told to fuck off

I agree it can be frustrating, but it's been clear for some time that they only do press etc. when they are good and ready to. You can chose to call that annoying, ignorant and pretentious, or you can think of it as dedicated, honest or even mysterious. Personally, I don't necessarily think it's any of these things - I'm guessing they are just busy living (semi)normal lives while making music in the way they always did and the way that made them successful to start with - ie. on their own, taking their time and not getting distracted. Whatever we think, it's immaterial - they make the music, they chose the what, where and when.

As to Warp, I'm guessing it's even more annoying for them. Their biggest artist is media shy and reclusive. Kind of limits the potential £$£ possibilities. I'm sure they would love a new interview, cd, back catalogue release, world tour and line of branded footwear, etc., etc. and I'm sure many, many offers have been made to that effect. The likes of you and me emailing then the same 2 or 3 questions every five minutes is probably just adding salt to the wounds, hence the curt replies from them.

Patience.

boc radio silence over extended periods of time amounts to the best tantric sex imaginable.

Do you remember putting the Oscar See Through promo to your ears the first time? I still feel the goosebumps.

do not agree, the curt replies are a farce, boc sell their music all the time, when I tell people the score about the band they cannot believe it,zero correspondence

So yesterday i visited Amoeba (best record store ever) in Hollywood and bought Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation and Clinic - Walking with Thee. Anyway, I spoke with the guy that works in the Electronica section who works with Kompakt Records and he is always giving me recommendations of new albums to check out. We talked for a bit and i pointed over to some BoC albums and asked him if he's heard of any recent news about them, he's like "yeah man, they should be releasing their new album probably by September or October". I asked him what his source was because I was like wuuuut? He supposedly has a friend that knows them. If thats true, then we don't have too long to wait.
