i had a funny experience with the color of fire recently...i was sitting on a draw bridge during traffic that was letting a boat through (so it was a long wait)..in the lane next to me was a very hot looking guy (i'm a girl btw) our car windows were both open.I was only half paying attention as i was also on the phone..but i noticed he kept looking over at me and i was thinking to myself 'yeah, allright, he's checking me out'..an eagle in your mind was playing in the CD loud enough for him to hear clearly... so as i'm talking i didn't even realize when the color of fire had come on just chatting away..i look over and the guy is now giving me the weirdest looks. He then rolls his windows all the way up and inches closer to the car in front of him as if to get away from me...ahahaha

This happens to me a lot any time I am playing warp/rephlex/planet mu albums loudly. The best is when old folks give you a nasty look, even if the music isn't terribly loud. I've had black guys ghetto blasting whatever rap songs are hot next to me and drowned out their rap with say something from the Quaristice releases and just get them to roll up their windows or move.

Great tune, but people tend to get stuck on the eighties nu- romantic lyrics.

I was listening to Geogaddi in my car today and when I cranked up after work Gyroscope was just beginning.. I spiraling down the parking garage with my windows opened and was just imagining what people were thinking of the music I was listening to.. As all of you may know Gyroscope is nuts but it's so effing good. I was wondering what are some of your favorite tracks that you would never use to introduce someone to BoC because you know they would be like "what the f**k??"

And I'm talking about the "real" tracks. Nothing like A is to B.. or Niagara.. stuff that obviously only we can appreciate.

I love cranking Gyroscope at the Cherry Creek Mall here in Denver where all the hoodz are bangin their Akon and Fitty Cent.

2 from the list of my BoC favorites. For Sequoia I especially love the second part, where the seconde 'melody' kicks in. Lot's of my friends who hear BoC, hate it, and don't see why I love it so much. This is also the problem with Statue of Liberty. I actually heard one of my friends say that if they would listen to it much longer, they would puke. This also goes for all the wobbly and detuned tracks they made. So I have a lot of friends who don't understand BoC. In the past I was really offended by such comments, and would un purpose spill some wine on them, to get even . But now I see, the more they hate it, the more I love it. So in an odd way, it's sort of a compliment . For me: it's GOSPEL!! I would almost say: the weirder, the better.

I was impressed with his skill in identifying the voice, but had no answers...as has been said earlier, if you don't get it you really just don't get it.

That said, I remember the first time I heard BoC. It was Eagle in Your Mind and I had just DL'd it from limewire. I had the same WTF reaction at first. It sounded so incredibly alien, and a bit frightening. I can't ever hear it that way now of course, but the memory is kind of a magic window into what civilians must experience when exposed to the BoC.

in my line of work we actually do expeditions to Seamounts (not too far from Monterey is the Davidson Seamount) ... so our head Ph.D. who works extensively on Seamount research, nearly shit when i played him 'Dandelion' as his intro to BOC. the rest is history.
