Dude, it's no hoax. It's on Bocs official page! I could see if maybe it was posted on watmm or even here, but it's the real deal. :D

Let's wait and see...

I just hope it doesnt take another two years to fill in the blank info for the mystery release and actually release it like they did with TCH. do you guys remember the "new album in 2004" message on their page? hahahaha.

my best guess is that it will be a remix ep or something with the nosdam remix on it. maybe a new track or two. the box set would be awsome though. keep your fingers crossed

"We’re maybe going to release a track with a video this year though."

Ok, let's think about this for a minute; if it is the Odd Nosdam remix, would'nt it be under HIS discography and not Bocs? Did'nt he say on his page that HE (Odd Nosdam) would be releasing this as a single via Warp? Since when have Boc put someone else remixing one of their tracks on one of their own releases? Never. And if it's the Dayvan Cowboy single/Ep, would'nt it make sense to release it before TCH? That's what most artists do (including Boc on past albums) to promote their new work. I'm just speculating here, and hoping against hope for the box-set. God, I'm impatient, I want answers damit! :x

In my experience, if an artist has a track remixed by someone else, it still pops up on their record (i.e. BoC's Broken Drum remix for Beck, which appeared on Beck's record.) Yet I got the impression from the Odd Nosdam announcement that he was remixing the Boc track "Dayvan Cowboy", so therefore it would appear on a Boc record. A Boc track remixed by Odd Nosdam is unlikely to appear on an Odd Nosdam record.
My betting is a "Dayvan Cowboy" single, with the Odd Nosdam remix, plus maybe another remix and/or a new Boc track or two. And a video.

I don't reckon we'll see a box set for a couple of years as they still seem unsure about it in their interviews and a project like that would take a fair bit of planning and designing.

Agreed. Furthermore, how often do they release a "proper" single? I would put my money on a new EP, especially since they seem to be focused on the future direction of their music, or at least that's the impression they give in their interviews. Don't get me wrong, I would welcome that box set with open arms and wallet. :D

In all likelyhood it probably will be an ep, which I'm super stoked about. But you never know, they could've been working on remastering and putting together artwork and that sort of thing for the box set this whole time now. Maybe between TCH sessions? I think we can definately cross a new album off the list cause it's just too soon. Could be a number of things really, a DVD would be boctacular! It would be great to see thier love for film finally come to life. I prdict (whatever it is) to be out sometime before summer.

i will be sad if it's the remix and nothing else. i will be happy as long as there's one or more new things produced BY BOC that we have never heard (including on soulseek, i mean an "old tunes" re release = decent but i'd love something fresh

in the smallest amount something new BY THEM would make me happy.

I think it will be an EP. they mentioned in one of their interviews after TCH came out that they were going to release one this year. and they also said, if i remember correctly that it might "surprise a lot of people" :!:

It might be more acoustic, I hope it’s more like Geogaddi, but I really doubt that. I think they’re starting to take things in a new direction. Geogaddi will always be my favourite album, but I think they now want to move away from that and away from the relentless analysing we all do to their music. I’ll always have a huge amount of respect and appreciation for them, even if what they produce next is going to be a sort of James Blunt on acid sound. I’m looking forward to seeing what else they’re capable of.
Considerable information capable of informing decisions and guiding actions is perceived even when observers do not experience any awareness of perceiving.
