I think the main basis for twin tracks which Boards alluded to has already been suggested, in that Collapse is the counterpoint for the two halves of the album which tell of different 'narratives', both reaching the same conclusion. The track listing that people hear is the track listing which I assume the Sandison brothers carefully selected. It doesn't make sense that they'd have chosen a purposefully inferior tracklist for the purposes of a top-secret fan treat. Or does it...?

I only recently joined this forum so I hadn't gotten to it yet, but my first thought when I heard and saw Reach For The Dead was 'Wow man, this has a real Koyaanisqatsi feeling to it!'. Especially the part in the Desert, with the shots of the huge man-made yet alienating constructions.
