Dunno this track actually reminds of a film which I watched as a kid, it'a about a town where people were dying from radiation, it was horrible film and it's almost impossible to remember, but it's still somehow in my memorie..

You're thinking of Threads and I found out about here around the time of TH when someone mentioned the connection. It's brutal.

I hope they continue the future theme. Not sure what themes they're gonna explore next, but it would be cool to hear a more optimistic look at the future, even though TH is a realistic prediction of the end of humanity. How the earth will one day be barren and devoid of life. I was trying to imagine what they could do next, maybe an album that explores the idea of space exploration and what humanity is capable of one day achieving. I'm sure whatever they do, it'll be interesting. Tomorrow's Harvest has been growing on me since it came out and it's definitely my favourite next to Geogaddi. Such a flawless album.

I'm really hopeful newcleardawn is still in play somehow. It's linked to Hexagon Sun, and the BoCcasts that Mikey Harms did raised some really interesting points about the site images and their link to the brothers.

I tend to get carried away in my Boards of Canada fanaticism, though

Yeah, sounds like Threads. Pretty sure there's a thread (no pun intended) on here for it somewhere. Well worth watching although tough going.

Joyrex said BoC are working on a new album and he expects it to come out by the end of the year. I have to admit, I'm pretty stoked and my expectations are as high as before TH now. I hope I will be blown away this time

I'd love for that to be true, but its probably too soon, not to mention that Joyrex permanently damaged his reputation within the BoC "community" a few years ago with the April Fool's joke. He's a psuedo insider that runs a forum thats main goal in life at times revolves around trolling BoC fans, who seem to want to believe anything they hear.

All that being said, it would be great to be wrong about that.

He's not a pseudo insider. He knows a lot of people in Warp- most famous of them all being AFX. He's an actual insider.

And a joke or two once in a while doesn't hurt, helps kill time

Mixed views. I do get the idea that Joyrex pissed some people off with the little stunt, but I also said at the time that maybe we were all guilty of taking it too seriously. I do believe he has some form of contact, although I could be wrong.

So yeah, he has 'form' but that doesn't mean this isn't true. Equally, our own MDG, someone I don't doubt even remotely, famously attracted adverse comments about the supposed release date some years ago. Even people in the know can be wrong sometimes. They're human too ;-)

I choose to be excited.

Well I know this comment was made by MDG back in 2009 but still.. :)

" I can tell you there's more than one record in an advanced stage right now." viewtopic.php?p=96226#p96226

We know one of those records was TH and as its been so long id say its fair game to be excited about another new release :)

His post is there somewhere

Cheers, found it.

"From what I've been told, they are working on their next album, and the intent was to have less of a gap between this upcoming release and Tomorrow's Harvest.

The fact they would be revamping their site (and announcing it no less) means sooner than later - so hopefully before the end of the year"

Holy cowww, it seems so un-Boardsian to put out records so close together, but man I'd be so stoked.... For the past few years I've had a gut feeling that in 2015 BoC would come out of hiding and play some shows again--being so in the public eye during 2013 only added to my hunch that soon they'd possibly be down to tour.

For some reason my gut feeling has also been that they'd be playing mostly around Scotland as opposed to extensively touring, perhaps in order to keep the 'Redmoon' vibe--but do you guys think they'd actually get around to other parts of the UK/Americas/elsewhere? I'm going to Scotland this summer on the total whim that I'll be there for their backyard show; it'd be the ultimate blunder if I went all the way there and then they peaced out to come tour in the US....

Meanwhile, anyone have a couch I can crash on in Scotland?? We can discuss rhythmic rhetoric, visual melody, and the onto-historical world of MHTRTC until the cows come home. I'm pleasant I swear

Sounds like you need to get to the two UK Twoism meets in the summer, including the inaugural Scotland event ;-)

No way! These are real things?? I'm there. Guess I ought to start actually being on Twoism more often--now that I think about it a website for BoC fans is obviously the best place to find like-minded folks in Scotland, hehe. Gonna seek out these meetup threads in a hot minute, what a wonderful thing to do at work today instead of my actual job... Here's to hoping at least one of them takes place between July and September.

Meanwhile, nice SOTL pic n_n Their show in a Brooklyn Cathedral back in 2013(?) was perhaps the greatest concert I've attended in the last 5 years....

Alright, back on track. Thanks Joyrex for setting up unfair expectations of my two favorite Scots. Hope you're onto something.
