In this case, I would interpret the word 'soon' to mean sometime within the next 5 months. I think it would be dumb to say 'soon' if there was no announcement coming by the end of the year. Here's hoping...

I appreciate your posting this e-mail. Although I didn't flip my lid when I read it, it was still interesting nevertheless. I would hesitate to call it 'meaningless' even if it was just the same old 'be patient' and 'soon' shit that we've been hearing for years. He didn't have to write to back at all. The fact that he did write back makes it meaningful and that's enough for me.
