No not at all, I believe the inclusion of 7 hexagons signifies a new addition to their discography, but I feel like this isn't crazy news now with all the posters and everything happening

There’s a St Luke’s bible reference in some of the videos. I’m only joking about the live show. There’s zero chance these guys are going to play a gig. I think it’s more to do with the biblical reference of an axe to fruitless trees.

Then there’s the possible sample from the Band Condemn the Infected - Sentient Lifeforms Discovered. Which is really funny to me.

Oh okay, right on. I didn’t have that grayscale icon in mind, I was thinking of the image with their album art masked in the triangles. And yeah, the seven hexagons is a fitting evolution

Speaking of cults (and as a member of one right here amongst you, my dear brothers and sisters) I've been doing a deep dive into the WARC/WARE transmissions from the WARP playlists, after learning that the recently released NTS playlist which dropped the same day the tapes started showing up https://www.nts.live/shows/your-specialist-subject-ii/episodes/your-specialist-subject-ii-hexagon-sun-w-jakob-drozd-5th-april-2026 was created by a DJ associated with an American college radio station WARC https://www.warcmeadville.com/. Coincidence? Maybe.

Over on Reddit a user spotted that 5 frames exist in the NTSC tapes that don't exist in the PAL tapes:

If you interpret each image in sequence you get something like LOOK VIDEO MASK FLAG/BANNER for the first 4, and I'm not sure about the 5th. The word spoken in the original video for that frame (found here https://www.reddit.com/r/boardsofcanada/comments/1si8yiu/possible_source_of_one_the_men_with_sunglasses/ ) is INSTANT.

I feel like this must be something.

What are you talking about Marcus? Those early albums have fixed track lists that add up to maybe less than 100 tracks in total? Back then you deemed their contents worthy of releasing instead of the other stuff so why think now that you have to reconsider what to release publicly? Just hand those tapes off to Warp and they’ll remaster and clean them up Jesus… sorry it was just a bit puzzling to see

A few things here… when they’re talking about having too many tracks, I figure they’re talking about sketches and demos, what could amount to 100s of tracks that were never fully fleshed out for release, well beyond the tracklist of what we know of as their unreleased media.

Even just talking about the fixed tracklists for the unreleased projects we know of, saying those were deemed worthy of release isn’t quite right. Those projects were hardly released beyond a tight knit group. It makes sense they would have to reconsider those for a wide public release. Sample clearance alone could tie their hands.

And last, handing them off to Warp for them to finish the job absolutely does not sound like something they would do. Nor should they. It’s commendable they have restraint here. They could choose to print money, but their artistic integrity is more important to them

Haven't the brothers also said that they're constantly completing music, but they won't put an album out until they have enough tracks to make a cohesive piece? I could have sworn they said something in an interview about having written a few albums worth of music during The Campfire Headphase days.

3 signals stand out on the posters. What is subtracted from their eyes, the color subtracted from the hexagons, and the multiplication of the once familiar single hex.

Are they blind to a spreading influence? Or somehow depleted by it..

In some pics the hexagons on the tapes look blue but most of the shots of them and the posters they look drained of the turquoise we would expect. We might like some confirmation on the color.
