I'm in Southern California. I've been to Tuscon and Phoenix, but I haven't spent much time in either.
I have a friend who recently graduated from ASU and decided to live in Tuscon permanently. As far as I know, the cost of living in AZ is much cheaper than where I live. I don't know how the cost of living in PA compares to AZ, but if you're in or around Philadelphia, I assume it's expensive.
My friend rents a three bedroom townhouse in Tuscon, and if my memory serves me correctly, she pays a third of approximately $700 a month (it costs $800 just to rent a single bedroom in CA). She was working at the University while studying, and when she graduated, she was having a difficult time finding a job. The last time I spoke to her, she was working at the Uni still.
She lives a college town, and from the sound of it, there seems to be a decent music scene, and most everything is accessible by bicycle ride. I've only been in AZ during the summer, and the sun weighs down on you like an anvil. It's blistering hot. There's an abundance of scorpions, snakes, and immigrants, so if that freaks you out, then you might want to reconsider.
Personally, I have no desire to live out there. The only appealing aspect is the cost of living. But given the economic stance the country is in now, I can see why some people would consider making the move.

Although I've posted here a lot, I might as well introduce myself as I haven't done so properly before.
Hi, my name's Emyr from Wales but moving to Liverpool next week. I am a shop assistant in a tourism hotspot in my hometown of Aberystwyth, but tomorrow is my actualy last day working as I will be studying Latin American Studies in the University of Liverpool next week! I'm 19 and spent this year deciding what I wanted to do with my life, while visiting family in Canada for a while and getting this job. Now I finally have a direction and things are looking up, I can look back and say that music and that of BoC's has helped me a lot. Everything kind of fell apart completely but, as daft as it sounds, music, and participating in music on different levels helped a lot. I like to listen to music and mess around recording using my Microkorg, tape player and samples. I also like to go to gigs, read, do a bit of writing and travel. The absolute top of my list for the future is to get traveling again (this is quite disheartening watching friends go around the world with financial help from family!), get back into fencing as I was one of the best juniors in my country back in the day, and get some demo album done any which way. I have a soft spot for low fidelty recordings.

My name is Jaakko and I come from the The Land of the Thousand Lakes. I´ve been listening to BoC for about eight months only but I´ve been a huge consumer of electronic music always. When I first heard Boards Of Canada, I was moved. I thought "this is the music". BoC fits so well in the mentality of my country and nature. I`m very happy that I discovered BoC, BoC wiki and this forum and would like to thank all of you who have provided information about their releases and production etc. I dont know how I didnt stumble on BoC earlier since I have always loved Röyksopp ( also Alania and Aedena Cycle ), UNKLE, Dj Shadow, Four Tet, Pantha Du Prince, FSOL, Nathan Fake and so on.
Luckily somebody highly recommended me Geogaddi. After listening through it I was amazed. This was the sound and music I had been searching. Melancholy, analogy and melody beautifully blended together. I had to obtain all BoC releases. I think BoCs music has opened some ports in my mind and has given me inspiration to make some synth-stuff on my own. Now I cant wait for their new album to drop..and yes I do understand the anxiousness of hardcore fans who have been waiting for new album and "bocset" a "little" bit longer than I have. The only thing BoC release I have in my collection as a psychical piece is The Campfire Headphase LP vinyl and the poster I framed, which came with it. Other stuff I have is digital..but Im trying to obtain more vinyls because I do like to support artist, vinyls are great as artpieces ( cover art ) and vinyl sounds good with good equipment!

So, I've been on this forum for 2 and a half years but never introduced myself....hi btw!
I'm Andy from Kent near London in the UK. I'm a pretty lost 23 year old trying to figure out where I want my life to go. Any ideas welcome I'm probably the least musical person on here but have the most diverse taste in music of anyone I know. I like the idea of making music but don't really have the creativity to go with it. Love the outdoors and love to climb even though I'm crap at it...
I got into BoC back at uni a few years back. Was given a USB drive with music on by a friend of a friend on campus. It had Roygbiv and Julie and Candy on as well as much other cool stuff but it was Julie and Candy which drew me in. They've basically become my favourite band and I own all their stuff on CD, vinyl will come when I have a bigger disposable income... i think the most special thing about BoC for me personally was that it opened my ears and I've found some amazing music as a completely indirect result of getting into their stuff, much of which has come from this forum.
There must be something about this place for me to keep browsing everyday since I joined. It's like a quiet, respectful, fascinating, amazingly creative corner of the internet full of like-minded people the likes of which I wish I knew more of in real life. It's been a real pleasure posting here and long may it continue

Hey, I'm Matt from England. I used to live in Surrey, near London, but we moved to the East Anglian countryside, which isn't as good but it's a nice place to house BOC music I guess
I got into BOC when I saw this little animation done by a guy named Weebl, if you've heard of him, which had 1969 playing as soundtrack. I looked it up and I was hooked

I got into BOC a couple years ago, thanks to a friend.
Concerning music, apart from Warp records, I'm listenning to artists such as Coil, Massive Attack, Four Tet, Superpitcher, Pantha du Prince, Aufgang, Beirut, Booka Shade, Emancipator, Animal Collective, Hermitude, Principles of Geometry, and the list goes on...
I also got a passion for clockmaking and a big interest in fashion.
Hope I'm going to learn lots of things about this amazing group here
