Occam’s Razor would be that it spelled out WARP. Those old computer voices can sound wild sometimes, especially when worn out

This video did give me a good chuckle: the "average" BoC fan's wait for a new release...

I've thought about the plaque as well. Perhaps the turquoise hexagon was the visual theme they decided on for Inferno? Or maybe they just liked the image and thought it would be cool for the banner?

Like, the "I Feel Good" was just a fun meme they wanted to share but didn't have any deeper meaning.

Yeah that's probably it. Just a quick hello and update that they were still working on things... Perhaps.

Interesting!

This is the page. You have to scroll a little to get to the comments box, on the left side of the page.

They probably saw the leaked API data before most other people. Or they're a Warp employee who's about to get their legs broken.

It can't be. The API data was available for 30 minutes before the album release (enough time for their frontends to flush their CDN cache). The comment was made on 13th April.

Now that we have an album title and tracklist (that doesn't contain Tape 05 and that is TBD whether it contains that track), I want to resurface an idea I posted earlier

Maybe Tape 05 is actually teasing something that's not Inferno. Something that's a rework of older unreleased material and is separate from their album 05 (Inferno). Maybe that will be like the fifth part to the Old Tunes 1, Old Tunes 2, BOC Maxima, and R35T tapes.

One can hope right? Calling it now!

I'm really curious about the cover. The woman reminds me of the homeless person behind Winkies in Mulholland Drive. Wonder if it's a press clipping from a story that took place in the 70s. So creepy.

By then, Bleep was crashing and I spent the next two and a half hours anxiously waiting to get the order completed. Guess all that refreshing the forum of late was good practice!!

Went with the deluxe/red vinyl and the new nuclear family shirt. In my haste, I missed the fact that there were bundles of LP and shirt, and bought both items separately...looks like I spent about $5 more USD (in case anyone is wondering), but I don't care at this point lol.

All the artwork, merch, track titles are so on point...gonna be a helluva wait but well worth it! WE DID IT GUYS! 8)

*in before the threadlock**

Don’t worry, in my haste I bought the digital version as well as the vinyl, not realising it was included with the vinyl on Bandcamp. They can have a tip :]

Glad I'm not the only one lol

I am still curious about why was there nothing for the various key dates of other albums, and other missed opportunities by Warp to stir things up with older releases in the last few years. I know some say that they are playing the long game with BoC, but that seems a bit like a counter business move, at odds with the clear FOMO vibe Warp is pushing with Inferno.

My biggest question is whether Inferno is a beatless ambient album

My money's still on some sort of subscription service thru their website. Maybe they'll host their entire archive (or release it selectively or a bit at a time), and fans can subscribe to stream/download tracks (a la Neil Young's Archives site). Imagine having access to properly ripped Old Tunes, or even better, the pre-Twoism albums? It would certainly give some credence to the Moody Bible ad on the VHS tape talking about flexidiscs and monthly tunes being delivered via subscription...

But that's just wishful thinking on my part, and I'm probably wrong! However - the fact that there's still a "Register for First Access" button tells me there will be more happening with the website at some point. If it was just for the preorder alert, why not remove it now?

not to bash your idea mate but while subscription services are massively profitable, i simply can't see them doing something like that. maybe to me it just personally makes no practical sense to have a subscription service for a specific artist, maybe i'm just sick of everything nowadays being a subscription service, i'm not sure--but i imagine that if they wanted to release old stuff, they would just drop it all at once or as a steady rollout instead of a subscription.

I think we may hear some Mr. Mistake-like drums on Inferno.

Hoping for some Matthew McConaughey satanic drum circles myself.

I think the way their website had an email sign-up option for first access matches exactly how most bands / labels / music festivals websites look before an announcement. And the email gathering is really just to get a notification of the release, which we have now all received.

There's really not much more to it most cases, and I think here too. Maybe another video at some point, but nothing like a subscription / archive service of old tunes or anything more to be expected from their website.

The product is the album. The website is just a tool to promote it, not a product in itself.
