I thought of RDJ too. It's probably the biggest surprise I've ever gotten out of boc.

Is this the one that one person called "ROYBBIV pt2"? I don't really think it sounds like ROYGBIV but it sort of has the same place on the album as that one did. Like it doesn't quite fit in with the rest and yet it works really well.

I think that same track by track review said it had similar vibes to I Care Because You Do era RDJ, specifically Cow Cud is a Twin. As soon it kicked in I thought that was a spot on comparison. It's just such a fun track that comes out of nowhere. I jumped when it kicked in straight after collapse!

This track, once that amazingly euphoric and bright chord progression comes in, put a massive happy grin on my face, and then those bizzare radio static vocals...I was str8 rollin.
Black then White are all I see in my infancy...Red and Yellow then came to me, reachin' out to me, lets me see...

saying though! I love when music gets you high.

I love how musical the voices sound in this. It's clearly manipulated but it sounds so right, like a person was actually singing it, the way the melody and the beat and the vox are so perfectly braided together. I also just noticed the tambourine sound in there (or something similar to a tambourine) almost like rustling leaves.

In case you haven't noticed, I love this song.

I've changed my opinion about the track, it grows into a nice sculpture and is somewhat of a throwback to their old tunes days
you don't care to hear until you listen

I think the review was talking about Nothing is Real in the Roygbiv Part 2 thing.

Yes, the review was talking about "Nothing Is Real".
From my side, i do think that if one track would be "Roygbiv part.2" it would be "Cold Earth".
This track just gave me goose bumps when it kicked in...just wow!
The whole album is just rocking...a synthesis of what BoC does best!!!

i just love love LOVE that chopped mellotron falsetto vox singing type shit that comes in about 2/3 of the way in. i was listening to it on my headphones while lying on the bed with my eyes closed, the shutters down, wondering what they're going to drop into this already triumphal drums, bass & pad combo and then it comes in... just the most perfect thing that could possibly happen at that point. any band/producer/musician trying to decide how to approach that part of the song could take weeks/months deciding what to use but it wouldn't sound even close to being that good. an amazing idea beautifully applied. a prime example of boc's tireless work in the studio.

edit: falsetto? probably not, but it's fucking great whatever it is.

Ah yeah Nothing is Real makes more sense as a comparison to ROYGBIV. Havening listened to the album a bunch, this is definitely my favorite, maybe one of my favorites ever. I always make "throw the radio in the tub when ______ peaks" jokes and now I have a new song to put in there haha.

Having had a few listens, I just cannot get on board with this song at all.

I can find something I like about every other song but this one, I dunno. Just sounds like jungle zone music to a cheesy early 90s Mega-Drive game :?

The first part of this track sounds very old tunes... then the voices come in and turn it into a darker version of something from MHTRTC.

wwbjd wrote:This track only confirms that BoC is a RDJ project.

Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had this theory. They're on the same label, similar music in many respects, and BoC is so reclusive... but BoC is better IMO.
