It sounds as if the track was crossfading from a previous track. This fade isn't from 'Split Your Infinities' as that track fades to silence at the end and these notes are not heard.
It gives the feel that Uritual was cut from master that previously had a different track before it, interesting!

Absolutely! Seems like a nifty giveaway / indicator of where a 'scene' was cut late in the edit and didn't make it...

It's possible to hear it without additional amplification. As said, the volume does need to be on the loud side.

I reckon this is one of those little touches they were relying on people to pick up on!

yeh noticed that on a few tracks, that's one of reasons I still think (as much as this album is enough) there's still more to come

It almost sounds like the wind chimey thing in Time Apple.

If I was going to pick a contender for the oldest piece of music on TH, it would have to be Uritual.

Is it me or is that sound at the very beginning just the higher pitched main synth trailing off as it does over and over throughout the entire track?

you may be surprised but the outro of Jacquard Causeway perfectly fades into "the two trailing notes" in the beginning of Uritual (spotted by bR0bert), i sh** you not
give it a listen: http://snd.sc/1eAzQby

it should mean that Uritual IS a reprise of Jacquard Causeway.

PS: let another "alternative tracklist" discussion begin

Ah... That's well identified, alright - an interesting little easter egg, moreso than obscured vocals...

last night before falling asleep i was listening to tomorrows harvest.

i noticed a very strong similarity between uritual and jacquard causeway as well. as though it was being slowed down a lot, but then i noticed that the sound in uritual may also be nothing is real, but extremely slowed down.

at one point in uritual, if you listen closely. you will hear the exact same melody as in nothing is real, but really slow and distorted.

am i going crazy? actually. i know damn well im crazy. ill instead ask. is anyone else noticing the same thing?

There's also a small chunk of something in the beginning of Nothing Is Real's left channel.

edit: that's just the ending of Uritual

a sound from Reach For The Dead is in here too, what early critics were calling the "raga-like drones" from the beginning and end of that track. they seem to fade in and repeat for the last 30 seconds of Uritual.

Does it sound familiar?

It would fit in to some of the themes theorized for TH. Maybe a desert ritual? Reverting back to times of crossing the desert? Marco Polo was one of the first to discover and write about these strange sounds; could the bothers have referenced him with this, and if so, have they done more references?

I am not sure whether there are any references to Marco Polo, but this desert sound is very similar to that in Uritual! it gives me shivers.

Sigh... I'll bite.
It fits in with the way that they said the album was palindromic. A while ago I suggested a tracklist that was pairing the songs from the outside in Gemini - Semena Mertvykh Reach for the dead - Come to dust etc. If you continue this pattern jacquard causeway plays directly before uritual. It is quite a different experience to listen to it in this order imo. Worth a try if you have any free time.

119 seconds

Ununennium is atomic number 119. It's the lightest element yet to be synthesized.
