Something I didn't note myself, but it's very interesting. And according to that interview from earlier, where BoC stated that "Come to Dust" is a reprise of "Reach for the Dead," it thus makes sense that the closing track would reprise the opening track.

it does sound like the synth arpeggio in come to dust is a faster version of the same arp in reach for the dead

Being a big GoT fan I couldn't help but think of Melisandre's Theme, same chords I think and in a similar order

What three repeating notes? At what time?

This song reminds me of the Quake Theme by Nine Inch Nails.

It's good as closer to the concept album, however I felt disappointment that it's exacly the same what was in the TH announcement video - I thought it will be something more, with additional layers and so static.
It reminds me old, 70's era of Tangerine Dream bootleg concerts, or some dark ambient music I know from a German duo called ['ramp] and their Doombient series (see - the title says it all ;) ).

In Russian it translates to "seeds of the dead."

Terrifying. I can't describe the amount of dread this song fills my heart with, and the video doesn't help. Good find, though!

I absolutely love this track, reminds me a little of Cold Summer by Lull. I would have been happy with a whole album like this track (love TH as it is though!).

At 0:42 from Gemini and 0:22 from Semena. And both are playing with a constant bass underneath.

People saying that it could work as opening are somewhat right I think, it's just opening another cycle, till another collapse, and we'll have another variation, just like two halves of the album are variations of each other "palindromed" around collapse.

Even the title refers to this "seeds of the dead". It's from the ideology of war, and dead soldiers (or just people) used as source of progression, change (no matter how illusory it is) .

I see it as ode to some great 'noise' music. I would love to hear an experimental noise album by them.

Agreed. In the context of the album, this tune screams "to be continued". Even as it fades out, it's beginning to move in another direction. For those who think this would make a good opener, I wouldn't be surprised if it branched into the next installment as just that.

After 7 years without a release, I'm beginning to think that the process in making this record grew into much more than originally planned, and we've now just seen the tip of the iceberg as to what was created over that time.

This is such a pretty/sad/scary/wonderful album closer. I really was happy this was included on the record, from when the album was announced I was hoping (as I know many forum members were) this would be the case! Pleased as punch.

Also of note, I listened to the album in reverse running order as some people have suggested. Definitely puts a new perspective on it! I thought it was also neat that, since Semena Mertvykh was the first song we really heard from TH (the album announcement vid), it lends further credence to the theory that the album is structured in a palindromic/reversible way. Start where we began! :P
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

This is one of the darkest songs they've ever written for sure.

In a recent interview, Boards of Canada cited Mark Isham as a source of inspiration. Let this video speak to that

Yep.
Just to expand on this in the event of people overlooking the post, Semena Mertvykh samples the opening strings.
