ATP Sound Board leak

When I went to the reddit thread being discussed, there's still someone's shared folder where they saved some uploads from that time. Just three files but they don't match the three now at rareboc. There is no Echus.
Now that I've learned more of the original context, the unique track in this folder sounds like it was the OP [deleted] recording their CD through their home speaker. It is the beginning 3:25 of ATP 2... Correct me if I'm wrong... https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... VQJhTeFrfM

I’m really grateful for ATP 1, 3, and 7, but it’s hard not to be annoyed that we’re missing the rest. It feels so wrong that those tracks are sitting out there somewhere while we're stuck waiting forever.

But if the guy's dad didn't want him to upload the whole set, i have to respect that. The permission has to come from the brothers themselves. If they wanted, we would have it already.

At first I was pissed at Reddit for chasing off the OP of that initial thread in 2024, but on second thought it does sound like the Brothers or someone affiliated with them told that kid or his dad not to upload the whole disc. Three hours before OP's post that he was asked/told not to share the full contents, someone on reddit suggested that they reach out (ha-ha!) to Boards of Canada (ha-ha-ha!) or to WARP... or to MDG on Twoism...

I think I'm a bit out of the loop, but are we saying that HIGH-QUALITY RIPS of ATP and lost tracks exist but the person who originally posted them were bullied by Redditors? I'm listening to the soundboard rips of the ATP tracks rn and want a little more context.

but the action today seems are just as weird
1) some guy posts a link to rareboc.org with the mp3s and then he deletes his post?

Begs to question who 1) who's rareboc.org (is this a known url?) 2) who gave rareboc the mp3s..and if we know that person can we ask them about them? 3) if the OG poster on reddit wasn't rareboc then they randomly stumbled upon these tracks on this niche website, are such a fan they realize the find, and then proceeded to post to reddit and then delete it? It's all weird

Hmm I think I prefer the early leaks of Track 07 more. This cleaned up version falls kinda flat comparatively to the bootleg remasters that have been out for a while now... The samples sound different too.

Something is fishy, I am quite intrigued by this little saga. I just noticed that Sam has redacted the original description on his YT upload as well. Previously, he mentioned that he is not the original poster of the new ATP recordings but that he contacted that person after the posts were removed on Reddit. I believe he also claimed to be in direct contact with the original source of these recordings (the 17 y/o who posted his Dad’s rare BoC CD on reddit) but he (Sam) would not be uploading any further music from that CD???

I’m getting a bit turned around now, but this is seemingly increasingly likely that this “leak” is either a deliberate move by BoC/Warp or hints at a possible future official release of Live/Unreleased material…

To answer the first quote, rareboc is a known url. A middle-man gave rareboc the mp3s anonymously. A couple of people are in direct contact with him, but there is nothing more from the CD to be shared as of right now. It is not coming from BoC/Warp.

People bashing reddit or the mods there are out to lunch. There's so many fake leaks on that subreddit, hard not to ask for more evidence. Also, the mods didn't remove the post - the original poster did.
