All I have to say is I hate that black box.

I dont hate it, because it signals something is eventually going to happen. I just hate the teasing haha.
It would funny if its a glitch in their HTML code.

It is, but it's a script that appears on a lot of websites all around the web, it's nothing that mdg or anyone attatched to the band has cooked up, I think. I'm *guessing* that at some point there was an update to the script and the black box appeared when it was updated. So, the black box appearing is a default thing to make it symmetrical, and for whatever reason it wasn't deleted.

you guys do realize that when the released the campfire headphase, they did the exact same thing. put a black box in the discography, and then after time, added the album.

They might be working on the album, they might be jerking off as we speak. We'll never know.

...also this is true for Trans Canada Highway I think. Or maybe it was TCH after all that I remember.

i still feel as though there are things too be found in the music they have already released. i am sure that there are still a few easter eggs we haven't discovered yet.

What if they name this album "The Black Box" and the only way it is available is through download from the black box. I'm so daft.

Absolutely!
One particular example I found out about recently was the inverted devils head in the trees on the Geogaddi cover. I think this is fairly common knowledge, but I only found out the other day. Really awesome!

Haha I remember swearing off BoC about 6 or 7 years ago because of their use of the Occult. Then I realized it's just music, man...

The black box symbolizes the emptiness that is to follow. I still believe that there is nothing currently planned for a new release. As in new material. Sorry.

Even when better informed sources tell you otherwise? Im sure it's coming.

Proof is in the pudding.
And I quote:
MDG: "the new album has been held up over the past year by one or two issues outwith the band's control, but it is finally coming out in 2010."

What about the Warp statement and the Facebook confirmation. Something is coming one day.

I wonder why they didn't update the 'news' section on the official website when they were "in the studio" Dec. 2011 via myspace. I think that kind of news would be worthy enough to be added to their homepage, especially compared to what has been there in the past, e.g., when T-shirts are available.
Maybe "in the studio" isn't that big of a deal since they're prob in the studio all the time?
Any theories out there?
