do you think its like the beginning of this Boards track?

It is, but I don't think that is going to be on the album to be totally honest. It sounded more like an intro to the listening party itself more than anything else.

Would love if it was on the album, but I agree with zeoevil, I think it was just a 'call sign' that the album was about to start - kind of like the call sign for a numbers station.....

i'm not so sure about that.

from Quietus's track by track review: A fanfare of trumpets and we're off… The first noise you hear is eerie dissonance, which is promising...

from exclaim's track by track: After a brief trumpet blast, throbbing bass synths open the track, scraping from side to side...

I'm not here to say whether it will appear on the album or not, but wouldn't it make sense that other (private) listening parties heard the same bit of fanfare? I thought these track by track reviews were based off of impressions from private listening parties, not from early copies.

yea and would seem to fit the cinematic vibe this album is forging, like those 80s vhs tapes i always remember, wobbly logo intros and the cosecha signal one video shows that awful video tracking
that would do my head in. many a video i rented drove me mad with that. the machines got better as the years went on.

its interesting that theyve re-used that from boc maxima or one closely like it. a hint for the bocset to come perhaps? nah wishful thinking or a reference to their old sound as this album almost sounds like the missing link between MHTRTC and Geogaddi.

Just imagine if Sony had won the video wars in the late 70s. Betamax (and its superior quality) would have been dominant and much of these quality issues wouldn't have been issues.. would BOC even exist now?

(sorry - late night 'butterfly effect' questions always make me ponder)

That'd be hella interesting...maybe they would exist, but changed into some sort of alternate universe-BoC

that's a good point. I hope to hear it on the album, but if it doesn't make it i'll be okay with that too.

That doesn't make much sense to me. Why would they put it on there if it wasn't going to be on the album? I would think that if they were going to include something at the listening parties exclusively for the people who go to them, it would be an entire extra track, not a five second sound clip. I hope so at least because it's just such a fitting intro for an album.

I think is a just a short melody recorded by the brothers to mark the start of the party, but it's not going to be on the album.

Dollars to donuts it's on the album. I'm just guessing though.

I kind of sort of regret listening to this one :( I try to imagine how it would have been to hear it on the album for the first time. It's so good though.

I just gave it the one listen, and have purposely tried to forget it until I have the album in hand. I am very impressed that it hasn't leaked yet. I'm sure they'll just be happy to make it to June without it leaking.

Now that I think about it, it makes totally sense if the album does indeed start with this sound considering TH is based on a '70s movie. The noise followed by the start of Gemini sound incredibly cinematic.

Oh man, I used to have some clips of those from the guys who did Everything Is Terrible.

As for whether or not it's on the album, it totally is. All the track-by-track reviews mention "a blast of fanfare" or something along those lines.

Anyway the listening party didn't start with the fanfare, it started with a guy picking up a microphone and saying (if I remember it right) something along the lines of "thanks for coming, and now without further ado, Tomorrow's Harvest." It was a little longer than that, but my point is that it started with an announcement over the PA system.

Definitely NOT the fanfare in question, it's different
