Maybe re-releases of all old material are on the way and she's clearing out the stuff worth coin to make money for their child that is due....

wishful thinking i think :) but the brothers and them probably do know one another. she did state that they have like 10000 records and they bought a home and are having a baby. if one of my pals wanted to make some money off of some weird collector that obviously is doing everything on their own insane volition, i would egg them on to get as much as they could. good for them i think. i think a lot of the uber collectors are crazy anyway. its not taking advantage of anyone. i think another way to think about this is if someone tried selling an old drawing of yours from highschool for a grand. would you care? i surely wouldnt, other than caring that im walking away with none of it! :D

Maybe we will hear something in a few months once all the promotion for TH settles down. Seems like now is the time to do it, their musical "stock" for lack of a better term is probably the highest it's ever been since Geogaddi. They've supposedly been in the process of remastering it for years now, so they must have something worth sharing by now. I can only hope whatever it is equally emphasizes both Old Tunes and material we've only heard about.

well i'd say sell the 10,000 records.
an opportunist of the highest £999 order, it would almost be like a law for one another for others, bizarre, whatever... so in that case then yea good on ya Prince Murat if thats how the ball rolls.

Sat Jun 01, 2013 4:10 pm

104 has been bid now...

Sat Jun 01, 2013 4:14 pm

if they're friends with BoC, and it's Mike's bday maybe they'll share profits with him/them?

I know I would.

huh?
...would anyone be objecting to these at all if they organically got to a grand? like if bidding started at 1 dollar and worked its way up to a grand? seems like no one ever bats an eye at 300 dollar posters or 5700 dollar records and just kind of shrugs and says "hmm, youuuu crazy fans!!!..." in this instance, the reserve seems to be everyones main gripe.

Yeah I don't get it either.

And please don't be offended by this 60-10, but if it were me (and it isn't because I don't have that kinda money but if I did I would snatch up everything in sight without batting an eye), I'd prefer to re-flip the promo and scoop up a coupla demos that BoC hand-wrote on the media to try to get their foot in the door with a label when they were nothing and starting up over one of a few rare promos that started the whole Tomorrow's Harvest rat race (even though it is 'The One' that got all the media attention acquired from NYC, it seems more a WARP pressed rarity than a direct-from-BoC rarity and a media driven craze).

But if you're strong headed, and since you probably acquired the XXXXXX promo for a pretty price I'm sure you are, you shouldn't give two geometric pisses what I (or anybody) thinks and remain happy with your purchase. It's still an excellent find and only true haters/jealous folk will see no value in it  And it is 'the one' whereas who knows how many demos are floating around out there in some old record execs attics. But I like to think I act on my gut more than how many are quantifiably in circulation. In quantifiable art terms, you have the Mona Lisa. And maybe this promo is more emotional since we haven't heard anything from BoC since Campfire Headphase and reading in print interviews that they already started working on their next album without much follow up from there minus a clue from mdg last year.

surely the bocset is on its way, seems likely that the seller has insider info.

Sat Jun 01, 2013 4:38 pm

60-10, fair play to you mate. If I had the money I'd of bought it for sure. I'd probably buy Michael and Marcus' toenail clippings if they went up on ebay and I had the money.

I was going to say, if someone can sell Britney Spear's bubblegum out of a trashcan (in her popular days), anything is fair game in a capitalistic society.

I don't know the girl who's selling this, does she work in the music business? The description says she got the cassettes when she worked at a record label, does she still work here? How would she know about a possible incoming bocset?

If it's the same Lara Rix-Martin we think it is, she's Mike Paradinas' wife.

Ha! I was obviously joking about the toenail clippings but is that Britney thing actually true?

Makes sense now, thanks :)

yes and also if mdg does not object then mate yea its plain simple hypocrisy in my book.
posters, rsd records, ALL intended for the public to find different kettle of fish. thanks.

about the reserve mdg has already quoted:
"a starting price of $799 speaks volumes about 'prince murat's true intentions. who is trying to profit from hype here?"

she's now rammin on about what difference will a few missing records from the shelf of 10,000 make! oh the oblivion  using the pregnancy as a self pity tactic. pathetic, sell a few thousand official records from the collection if times are so hard but please do keep your morals if that clicks inside and we're not talking about the vinyl records . the cassettes, tapes, mcs, get them off!

never liked planet mu anyway, skittle music most of it. apparently 3 tracks of shit a day their boss was firing against the walls, that does not surprise me.
