This post has an air of 'better than thou' to it and that irks me.
And yeah now that someone mentioned it I think I can hear a subtle guitar picking going along with it too. And definitely bass guitar.

Wasn't aimed at you specifically, or meant to be passive aggressive, or even irk anybody.
Wow. I was gonna write something smart arsed, but can't be bothered.
If you at least read
some of the thread before you posted, you would have seen it has been mentioned several times before, but it's no biggy.
Anyway, no harm done. This is a nice forum. No need for aggression in any form

This song pumps me up. It has a really bittersweet triumphant feeling. Has anyone mentioned the noise that sounds like someone blowing through a straw? there's a song on the downward spiral that uses that sound too (can't remember which, 'becoming' maybe?)

Ah, I'm sorry

There was no need for me to really be offended in the first place lol

I know that folks have spotted the Coschea call sign jingle at the end of this tune... But has anyone else noticed that the jingle starts playing in the background from about 2:00? It's way in the back of the mix and drowned in reverb, but I can hear it singing away under everything else!

BoC Rock n Roll

After repeated listens I have to say this is one of BOC's best. Yes, this song does fucking rock. Of all the Boards songs I've heard it's the one that sounds most like it emerged out of just some jamming around. There's no 'riff' per se, but the millitant one-note guitar rhythm manages to be catchy and powerful as hell. After the dark eeriness of the rest of the album, this song feels like the sun bursting out from behind a cloud. It soars to epic heights until you can't think it can get any more powerful, but when it soothes into that somber key change the sun slowly starts to retreat back into obscurity and the world grows quiet once again. Awesome tune.

The end sounds like Cosecha Signal. Nice song, it's in my Top 5 of TH.

New Seeds has absolutely knocked me out on my first listen. I was desperate whilst listening to it for it not to fade too early, and then there's that progressive key change toward the end that takes it to another level.
Just lovely.

Haha now that I know it's you I can't help but be pleased we've been texting eachother with the same ringtone for who knows how long. BRAIN TWINS.
I also like how this sort of breaks the fourth wall. Their music is so rooted in the past and they're these guys with so much mystique but hey, their cell phones go off around their speakers too and they think it's just as interesting as you do.

Well, this was def a track that wowed me on my first listen! Really love the delayed melody..beautiful. Hauntingly beautiful, and deep.

My favorite track on the album.
Does anyone else hear some jazzy 2-note piano sounds?

Lovely track.
Ah ha, there we go.

Fucking love how it ends with the Cosecha thing.

it sounds quite as if at first it is played by more like a choir synth...amazing
EDIT: In fact the more I listen to it I cant rid the feeling that all melodies of the track are based off of that

I love how we'll probably always remember the cosecha thing when we hear the end of this song. What a ride though, I've actually ended up making some amazing friends in the past few months because of this whole thing, and this song will always remind me of them now

Agreed!

It's Eraser

Noticed the similarity too.

I had quite a funny moment playing this on vinyl. The speakers connected to my record deck often pick up on my phone signal when I'm nearby and make the interference sound. They did this just as I was dropping the needle on side 4 and transitioned into New Seeds.
P.S. I also agree that this is one of BoC's best to date, it really is. It might even break my top 5. Incredibly good track and still the standout for me.
I think the 'blowing through a straw' noise is some type of distortion effect, or another type of interference. It sounds familiar, like something that occurs when audio equipment isn't properly plugged in. Maybe that's the idea, that the melody is made up of different types of electronic interference frequencies?

yep, the end of this track followed by the beginning of Come To Dust was pretty much the moment I realized just how special this record is. The last time a record hit me first time like that was Loveless when I was 15, which bodes well!
Still don't know if it tops Geogaddi for me yet but damn if this isn't one of the most beautiful records I've ever heard.
