yes, I thought the subject of the documentary correlated well with Harvest's theme and that of the track.

Although affliction comes not forth of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
I would seek to God, and to God would I commit my cause: Which does great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number: Who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields: To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety. He disappoints the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. He takes the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the fraudulent is carried headlong. They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night. But he saves the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty. So the poor has hope, and iniquity stops her mouth. Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: therefore despise not you the chastening of the Almighty: For he makes sore, and binds up: he wounds, and his hands make whole. He shall deliver you in six troubles: yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you. In famine he shall redeem you from death: and in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hid from the whip of the tongue: neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
At destruction and famine you shall laugh: neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth. For you shall be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. And you shall know that your tabernacle shall be in peace; and you shall visit your habitation, and shall not sin. You shall know also that your seed shall be great, and your offspring as the grass of the earth. You shall come to your grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn comes in in his season. See this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know you it for your good.

And so that post does not get deleted and seems a bit too far off topic and not about the track.
The text is from the book of Job from the bible and its kind of how I see the album and the track Come To Dust. I will explain further when I have more time...Thanks for reading.

I knew the melody in this song really reminded me of something I'd heard before.

I mean, that main melody is something of what's known as a descending chromatic (maybe not the most musically official term, but that's how I'd describe it).
But anyway, my point is that melody is pretty common to all types of music, though this particular instance wouldn't surprise me if it were some type of influence on BOC.

I agree man. I wasn't saying BoC had definitely copied it/stolen/been inspired by it. Just saying it reminded me of it is all.

hello everyone. i wasn't sure about posting this - since as usual, its not much of a video.
its how i spent album release day as i had planned ... exploring an abandoned military base here at home with my headphones and my camera.
the new album reissue kind of re-ignited some of that fire from the Tomorrow's Harvest release and the fun we all had with it. anyway, here's my take on what is now one of my most favorite BOC songs - Come To Dust:

The intro to this as well as the entirety of Semena Mretvykh have lowered sample rates. At 45rpm they sound totally different

thanks for the kind words. i forgot to mention that since this was really more of "what i saw" than anything - the best part is i had my sound canceling headphones on and could hear nothing but the music so whatever was around the corner was what i was capturing. not knowing what that might be really added some adrenaline and by the end of the album - it was getting really dark and i was still in the old church. i was exhausted and soaked in sweat making for quite an immersive experience.

If you put it on backwards, you will hear "Greeting Traveler" at the beginning, repeated two or three times.
