I think the track might be "Uritual"...sounds very "Old Tunes".

I support palace posy 'cause is recognizable the synthesized voices at the end, just like nlogax someone?

Almost like they were forced to by the WARP under some clause.

Obviously it's Cold Earth. It sounds like a cut track from MHTRTC. Just the children's voice samples blatantly date it. There's nothing comparable on the rest of the album. It feels completely out of place.

I'd be inclined to guess Palace Posey. It stands out harmonically the most, and probably sounds the least like something from 70's/80's cinema. Not to mention it has that de-tuned sound. It actually reminds me a bit of Iced Cooly.

listening to TH on the way to work thinking about this i have to run with the general consensus that the 'early' track is indeed Palace Posy. However most of their old tunes seem to carry on in the same vein throughout, whereas this track has 2 parts, but both have the feel of earlier work. It led me to think perhaps this track is the amalgamation of 2 earlier tracks? just a thought.

If there could be one good "telltale" sign of Palace Posy being an old song is the sample used at the end. Most of the track deals with Cold War paranoia, conspiracy theories, espionage and nuclear catastrophes, and then there's an obscure 70's TV ident in the middle? Doesn't seem to fit.

But again, I'm very confident that this "old song" was probably completely rerecorded and reworked for the album. I don't think it's an old recording at all.

i think they're leading ye on, whichever one it is, its been re-recorded, re-worked, probably 1 second of it dates back to earlier times. 1 second means a lot to Mike apparently so yea it could be 1 second of whichever track. give up NOW!

Four pages of speculation in two days about one track, and that's just on Twoism. If you had the power (and were bored doing unimaginative interviews), wouldn't you be tempted?

To troll people on fan forums that I don't even look at? No, not really.

It's not even that huge of a revelation. Lots of musicians repurpose old unreleased material for later uses.

I'm guessing "Reach for the Dead" just because no one else has mentioned it yet.

This could be put to a poll to get the consensus of guesses from all Twoists...

I agree, let's poll it and 'ask the audience'.

Voted Palace Posy. It stands out like a sore thumb on the album, both production wise and musically imo.

"But the worst thing has to be that the music completely devalued, almost certainly for young people. I've heard young people claim that all music should be free, and artists should make it only cause they love making it. Money's just an extra. Not that I don't understand it, cause theoretically it doesn't even sound bad, but just think about it, if The Beatles had to do an extra job in a grocery job you think they had the time or energy to make revolutionary records like Revolver?"

Can of worms......opened......
