We have this system of working where we never work in a linear fashion. We work parallel on lots and lots of music at once.
Marcus: Instead of starting on one song and working on it until its finished we have hundreds of songs on the go at one time and depending on our mood we try working on different ones. We both have pretty short attention spans.
[b]Mike: We always have enough material for several other albums but what tends to happen is that our tastes move on and we kind of get fed up with what we're doing. We actually have a huge amount of music that people will probably never get to hear.

So when they say "we have hundreds of songs in stock", this absolutely does NOT mean "we are going to release a box set with all our old tunes next year". It's just the way they work.
But since every fan WANTS this box set, maybe Warp will decide that it could be a good idea to do it...

It's not WARP who's in control of the songs of BoC, that's up to Marcus and Mike :!:

I know watmm sucks, but I was dissapointed to see this post by Joyrex. Could be bullshit, but he usually speaks the truth.
http://forum.watmm.com/index.php?showtopic=4809&st=25 <just skip over the other tards and read what Joyrex posted.

But on the other hand...this could also mean the Boc-Set is coming.

maybe warp just dont know.
anyone maybe think it could be a dvd? like in a few interviews they said that they are skint and cant put anything out for vid etc.... but maybe some director saw this and decided to support them in the art, like the art council maybe....
just a thought...

also it could be just a poster.....

Who is 'Joyrex' and how does he have these connections in the electronic music community? Does anyone know anything about him?

He must be a big geek with that Naruto avatar of his...

Joyrex runs WATMM. He does have some BoC contacts - he got them to judge the Geogaddi video competition for example. That doesn't make sense to me though - why would Oddd Nosdam remix Dayvan Cowboy if it isn't going to be released? My only other idea is that there's going to be some sort of a remix compilation album similar to Aphex Twin's 26 Remixes.

yeah maybe its like the warp3+10 release with all artists remixing others.
jeasus you just dont know, even with warp....

As most of you have noticed (I never state it outright) I like to keep away from most of the speculation and new release threads, but I've just gotta re-iterate that for me, as long as there's something new (that we have never heard, mp3 or otherwise (read: no afot/otv1/2)) that the BOARDS have produced with whatever comes out, I'm happy! :D :D

hahaha i havent even thought about if they released AFOT or OT 1 or 2...it would be cool to have them as an official release but other than that i would be kind of dissappointed...

i repsect you staying away from the speculation threads...the more i think of it...the more i realize i will be happy with JUST ABOUT anything...

I remember someone mentioning recently that they'd be releasing an EP through Skam that was limited to 70 copies. That was a couple of weeks before the mystery release showed up on the offical site, but I'm sure that's just a made up rumor regardless.

do you think mike and marcus are reading this and pissing themselves??? i just really hope they let us know one way or the other SOON .. i remember that cryptic message on the warp site in 2004 saying 'there WILL be a new boc album this year...' i can understand that things can easily get delayed but i just hope they let us know if that is the case this time... my moneys on a new ep... jesus i cant stop thinking about it !!

Well that's my point earlyer in this topic, it's all based on heresays.

I can understand the speculation, as this happens every time they release an album. When Geogaddi came out they were talking in interviews about releasing another album right after, becuse they had produced too much material for one album, then before you know, it years pass before another release. In a magazine recently they were talking about realeasing a box-set of early work through WARP (like they re-issued Twoism after Geo). The mysterious blank "comin soon" on their website, is the only indication that there is any truth in this, but they did this a few years ago, and the "coming soon" album ore whatever was there for over a year before it eventually referred to Twoism. To be honest they need to address the early material, because there are too many people out there releasing material over the internet that clearly isn't them, but claiming to be early albums such as Hooper Bay etc. The Hooper Bay i got hold of was basically material by Christ (who i think was part of the BOC set-up years ago). At least if they re-release it properly it will stop inferior music being passed of as the real BOC.

On another note, before Campfire came out, i managed to get hold of it a few months early via the internet. Don't worry i always buy the album as soon as it is released, but hell, if somebody offers you the new BOC 3 months early, what would you say?!? Anyway a mate of mine had done the same but on comparison, 5 of the tracks were different, but all the rest identical. Has anybody else addressed this at all? I am basically left with 5 tracks which sound like part of the album, but which never ended up on the final release of Campfire?

Sorry for the essay! :?

Essays are a good thing.

Regarding the last thing you wrote, Bill. You wouldn't mind uploading some of those 5 tracks for us to hear and judge?
